In the following exercise, we must choose a country between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. We must select a date for the trip and write eight activities to do. The verbs must be in the future tense.

The verbs in the future tense and plural form will have the termination *(emos)*.

– **Mi compañero y yo viajaremos a Puerto Rico del 5 de julio al 25 de julio.** *(My partner and I will travel to Puerto Rico from July 5 to July 25.)*

The activities that we will do are the following:

1. **(Caminaremos) por el viejo San Juan**. *(We will walk through Old San Juan.)*

2. **Nos (bañaremos) en la playa.** *(We will bathe on the beach.)*

3. **(Viajaremos) en bote por la Isla Culebra.** *(We will travel by boat around Culebra Island.)*

4. **(Montaremos) a caballo por toda la Cordillera.** *(We will ride on horseback throughout the Cordillera.)*

5. **(Pasearemos) en bicicleta por toda la costa.** *(We will ride a bicycle along the entire coast.)*

6. **(Comeremos) arroz con frijoles y plátano.** *(We will eat rice with beans and plantain.)*

7. **(Acamparemos) en la playa.** *(We will camp on the beach.)*

8. **(Bailaremos) música Salsa y Merengue.** *(We will dance Salsa and Merengue music.)*

In the following exercise, we must talk about each topic and predict what will happen in the future. We will provide the student with some ideas for each one.

**(1)**

The first topic is about wales in 2200.

– **En el futuro, las ballenas no estarán en peligro de extinción. Las naciones más poderosas y organizaciones habrán logrado reducir la caza ilegal de estos mamiferos.** *(In the future, the whales will not be in danger of extinction. The most powerful nations and organizations will have succeeded in reducing the illegal hunting of these mammals.)*

The second topic is about Venice in 2065.

– **El nivel de agua en los canales de Venecia se habrá incrementado considerablemente. Muchos residentes se mudarón y el turismo se habrá reducido.** *(The water level in the canals of Venice will have risen considerably. Many residents have moved out, and tourism will be down.)*

The third topic is about Traditional books in 2105.

– **Para el año 2105, los libros serán completamente digitales, y contendrán videos y audios explicativos así como la opción de interactuar con los estudiantes.** *(By the year 2105, the books will be completely digital and, they will contain explanatory videos and audios and the option to interact with students.)*

The fourth topic is about television in 2056.

– **Para el año 2056, los televisores serán ultra delgados y flotarán en el aire. Se podrán colocar en cualquier habitación sin ocupar espacio.** *(By 2056, televisions will be ultra-thin and float in the air. They can be placed in any room without taking up space.)*

The fifth topic is about the Internet in 2050.

– **En el futuro, todas las personas podrán tener acceso a internet en cualquier parte del mundo, tanto en el Everest como debajo del agua.** *(In the future, everyone will be able to access the internet anywhere in the world, both on Everest and underwater.)*

**(6)**

The sixth topic is about Hamburgers in 2080.

– **Para el año 2080, la mayoría de los ingredientes de las hamburguesas serán sintéticas. Las seguirán comiendo sus hamburguesas con queso y tocineta.** *(By 2080, most hamburger ingredients will be synthetic. They will continue to eat their cheeseburgers and bacon.)*

The seventh topic is about the North and South Poles in 2300.

– **En el año 2300, los glaciares de los polos norte y sur se habrán derretido y habrá una crisis ambiental. Los hábitats de muchas especies habrá desaparecido y estarán en extinción.** *(In the year 2300, the glaciers at the north and south poles will have melted, and there will be an environmental crisis. The habitats of many species will have disappeared and will be in extinction.)*

The eighth topic is about the Amazon in 2100.

– **El Amazonas para el 2100 habrá sido deforestado en casi un 50%. La selva ya no será un lugar seguro para muchas especies por el incremento de la caza ilegal.** *(The Amazon in 2100 will be deforested by almost 50%. The jungle will no longer be a safe place for many species due to the increase in illegal hunting.)*

The ninth topic is about Los Angeles in 2245.

– **Los Angeles será una ciudad futurística. Será la primera ciudad en tener autos voladores, policías robots y casas completamente ecológicas.** *(Los Angeles will be a futuristic city. It will be the first city to have flying cars, robot cops, and completely greenhouses.)*

The tenth topic is about Oil in 2090.

– **El petróleo ya no será una fuente principal de energía. Las personas y las fábricas ya no usarán el petróleo.** *(Oil will no longer be a relevant source of energy. People and factories will no longer use oil.)*

In the following exercise, we must make five famous people list and predict what will become of them in the future.

For each description, we must use the verbs in the future tense.

The first famous person will be *Dua*.

– **Dentro de veinte años, se convertirá en la artista pop más influyente del mundo. Habrá sacado 20 álbumes digitales y habrá grabado canciones en más de siete idiomas.** *(Twenty years from now, she will become the most influential pop artist in the world. She will have released 20 digital albums and recorded songs in more than seven languages.)*

The second famous person will be *KW*.

– **Dentro de veinte años, este rapero habrá cambiado su nombre cuatro veces, habrá sido gobernador de Texas y tendrá cinco hijos.** *(Twenty years from now, this rapper will have changed her name four times, will have been governor of Texas, and will have five children.)*

The third famous person will be *Elon*.

– **Dentro de veinte años, este empresario será el líder de los viajes espaciales para turistas. Habrá diseñado camiones y autobuses que se manejan solos usando electricidad.** *(Twenty years from now, this businessman will be the leader in space travel for tourists. He will have designed trucks and buses that drive themselves using electricity.)*

The fourth famous person will be *Cristiano*.

– **Dentro de veinte años, este jugador se habrá retirado del fútbol profesional. Habrá comprado un equipo de fútbol en Portugal y vivirá en una gran mansión junto a su esposa e hijos.** *(Twenty years from now, this player will have retired from professional football. He will have bought a soccer team in Portugal and live in a big mansion with his wife and children.)*

The fifth famous person will be *JB*.

– **Dentro de veinte años, este cantante se habrá convertido en un famoso actor. No habrá lanzado ninguna canción, y decidió mudarse a Alaska con su esposa e hijos.** *(Twenty years from now, this singer will have become a famous actor. He will not have released any songs and decided to move to Alaska with his wife and children.)*

In the following exercise, we have four themes. We must select one of them and write dialogue in the future tense form.

We will select the third topic. However, the student can choose another topic and create a dialogue.

The topic is the following:

– *The Rondon brothers have decided to turn their farm into an eco-tourism center. They must plan some attractions for tourists.*

The conversation about the future of the above idea will be the following:

– *Alex*: **Hermano, ¿Qué ideas tienes para nuestro parque ecológico?** *(Brother, what ideas do you have for our ecological park?)*

– *David*: **Tendremos una enorme vegetación, variedad de plantas, arboles e incluso animales.** *(We will have enormous vegetation, a variety of plants, trees, and even animals.)*

– *Alex*: **También podremos crear atracciones para niños usando la madera de la granja.** *(We will also create attractions for children using the wood from the farm.)*

– *David*: **Además incorporaremos una liana cerca del río para que se puedan lanzar y darse un chapuzón.** *(We will also incorporate a liana near the river so that they can throw themselves and take a dip.)*

– *David*: **Construiremos estaciones de reciclaje en todo el parque.** *(We will build recycling stations throughout the park.)*

– *Alex*: **¡Qué genial idea! Por útlimo, construiremos un restaurante con alimentos que consecharemos en nuestra granja.** *(What a great idea! Finally, we will build a restaurant with food that we will harvest on our farm.)*

– *David*: **Este parque ecológico será un éxito!** *(This ecological park will be a success!)*
