Analysis.

The capital of Mexico is San Luis.

Regarding the first statement, you probably know that the capital of Mexico is Mexico City. Nonetheless, turn to page 82 in your manual. Read the data at the bottom of the page. Under “capital”, you will see that it says “México, D.F.”. The abbreviation stands for “Distrito Federal”, quite similar to Washington D.C. The abbreviation is how local people tend to call the capital: just “D.F.”.

Staying on the same page, check the data once again. Under “comida typica”, you will find that, indeed, tacos are a typical Mexican dish, which means that this statement is true.

The Mexican currency is the euro.

Once again, you probably know that the euro belongs to the Euro-zone. By elimination, you will deduce that this statement is false. However, take another look at the data at the bottom of page 82. Under “moneda” (currency), you will notice that they use the peso in Mexico.

Step 6

Diego Rivera created many murals reflecting Mexico’s history.

For this statement, turn to page 97. Read the text about murals carefully. You will notice that it says that the government of Mexico financed artists to create murals for thirty years, and that Diego Rivera was one of the most notable muralists. Furthermore, it says that their murals reflect their views on Mexican history, which altogether means that, indeed, Rivera created many murals reflecting the history of Mexico. Thus, this statement is true.

Step 7
7 of 9
Mexico has the largest Spanish-speaking population in the world.

Back to page 82, have a look at the data once again. Under “idiomas” (languages), you will see what languages are spoken in Mexico, and that it has the largest Spanish-speaking population in the world. Thus, this statement is true.

Step 8
8 of 9
Only private school students in Mexico wear uniforms.

Regarding the final statement, open your manual to page 92. Once again, read through the text carefully. You will notice how it says that all students in Mexico wear uniforms to school, private or public. Thus, this statement is false.
