A quinceañera is a big coming of age 15th birthday party that includes a lot of dancing, eating, and some unique traditions.

At a quinceañera, there is food in abundance. Enchiladas, tamales, rice and beans, tacos, and other traditional foods are served. Alcohol drinks are offered to adults at the party, but underage guests may toast with a glass of champagne.

A Quinceañera traditionally has her shoes changed from flats into heels by her father. She wears a princess-like dress and a tiara.

She dances with her father and with her Court of Honor (15 people she chose).

Other traditions include the Candle Lighting and the Last Doll.
