Method.
Read the text twice to understand it. It is about students and how good they are at school. Head onto the statements section and decide whether each statement is true (cierto; C) of false (falso; F). Below, you will find an analysis for each statement.

Analysis.

Irene siempre saca buenas notas.

In the text, you will notice that, in the second sentence, Irene likes to study and do her homework. The following sentence tells you that she always gets a “cien” in her exams. This “one hundred” refers to percentage, which means she always has the best results. Thus, this statement is true.

De vez en cuando, Sandra saca una mala nota.

Carry on reading until you reach Sandra. You will see that she often likes to do her homework and that her marks are ninety, forty and a hundred. In Mexico, the best mark ranges from 90-100 percent, thus you can freely deduce that, indeed, sometimes she gets a bad mark.

En todos los exámenes, Javier saca buenas notas.

Keep reading until the part where Javier is mentioned. You will notice that he never likes to read books. His scores are low: forty, fifty and forty. This indicates that the above statement is false.

Muchas veces, Pablo saca una buena nota.

Start reading from the beginning. Pay attention to Pablo’s results: forty, fifty and thirty. These are low scores, which means that, again, the above statement is false.

Eduardo nunca saca una mala nota.

Continue reading to get to Eduardo. You will see that he always scores ninety. Given that this score belongs to the best range, he always receives a good mark. Thus, this statement is true.

Objective.
The objective of this question is to practise writing in Spanish.

Method.
In this exercise, you are given two questions: the first one refers to the text from the same page, and the second one addresses yourself.

For the first question, refer to said text. Read about Javier and tell your opinion on whether he should study more and why.

Regarding the second question, it is a yes-or-no question, however, respond in a full sentence.

These are both personal questions, thus only refer to the below examples as a reference of how your responses might look like.

1. Sí, pienso que Javier tiene que estudiar más porque nunca saca buenas notas. Tiene que leer más libros y tomar más apuntes para sacar buenas notas.

2.A. Sí, yo saco buenas notas en la clase de ciencias.
