A Graciela le gusta ***estudiar.***
(Graciela likes *to study*.)
We’ve been given a conjugated verb *gustar* (*to like*) which is followed by a verb in the infinitive form (*estudiar*).
You will notice most of the sentences in this exercise have the same pattern—***gustar + infinitive.***
Juan es de **Lima, Perú.**
(Juan is from Lima, Perú.)
In this sentence, we had to state a location.
A los amigos de Graciela les gusta ***pasar* un rato con los amigos y *escuchar* música o *mirar* la televisión.**
(Graciela’s friends like *to spend* time with friends and *listen* to music or *watch* television.)
This sentence can be shortened yet still keep the structure and meaning:
A los amigos de Graciela les gusta ***pasar* un rato juntos y *hacer* diferentes actividades.**
(Graciela’s friends like *to spend* time together and *do* different activities.)
Los sábados les gusta ***alquilar* DVDs y *comprar* pizzas.**
(On Saturdays they like *to rent* DVDs and *buy* pizzas.)
A Silvia le gusta ***dibujar* y *leer*.**
(Silvia likes *to draw* and *read.*)

– El/La maestro(a) de español ***es*** de…
(The Spanish teacher *is* from…)
– A nosotros nos **gusta** (We like):
1. …*practicar* deportes. (…*to practice* sports.)
2. …*descansar*. (…*to rest.*)
3. …*pasar* un rato con los amigos. (…*to spend* time with friends.)
The verb ***gustar*** is used with the ***infinitive*** form of another verb.
For example: A Juan le ***gusta*** *trabajar*. (Juan likes *to work.*)
