Read the relevant texts thoroughly twice (pages 28, 29, 44). Then head over to the statements section and mark true or false accordingly. Each sentence will be analysed in the following sections.

There are almost 40 million Hispanics in the United States.

If you take a closer look at pages 28 and 29, you will see that there are over 40 million Hispanics in the States, thus this is a false statement.

The city with the largest Hispanic population in the US is San Francisco.

Take a look at the numbers on page 28. You will notice that the city with the largest Hispanic population is actually New York with over two million, and that, by percentage, there are most Hispanic people in El Paso. Hence, this is a false statement.

Xavier Cortada is a Cuban-American artist.

This is a true statement (page 44).

San Antonio’s oldest neighbourhood is called La Villita.

This is a true statement (page 29).
