What is Dimensions Of Wellness?
Wellness is a concept that encompasses many different aspects of life. It is an individual’s overall health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Dimensions of wellness include physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, occupational and social wellness. Each dimension contributes to an individual’s overall sense of wellbeing.Physical wellness involves taking care of one’s body by getting regular exercise and eating a nutritious diet. Regular exercise helps to improve the body’s strength and flexibility as well as reduce stress levels. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables provides the body with essential vitamins and minerals for optimal functioning. Preventions such as getting adequate restful sleep also plays an important role in physical wellness. Intellectual wellness involves engaging in activities that expand knowledge and promote critical thinking skills such as reading books or attending lectures or classes to stay current on topics related to one’s interests or profession. Intellectual health can be improved through continuous learning opportunities and challenging oneself mentally by working on puzzles or problem solving activities can help prevent cognitive decline later in life. Emotional wellness includes being aware of emotions so they can be managed constructively instead of allowing them to control behavior in damaging ways such as addiction or self-harming behaviors like cutting oneself off from friends or family members who are trying to provide support during times of difficulty or distress. Developing better coping skills through education on how to process feelings effectively is essential for maintaining emotional health over time; this could include talking with a trusted friend about issues at hand as well as seeking professional help if needed via therapy sessions or other treatments options available depending on the person’s needs/concerns at any given time frame/situation encountered throughout their lifetime journey(s). Spiritual wellness involves developing the connection between yourself and something greater than yourself which could be your faith tradition (if applicable), nature/the environment around youor simply taking some alone time to explore what lies within your innermost depths that may not have been explored until now due its complexity (which might require further self reflection/exploration).
