Putting the victim in a $textbf {recovery position}$ can help keep the airway open which aids with better breathing. This position prevents the tongue from rolling back and blocking the airway. textbf{Florida Kid saved by Dad from Cottonmouth}
$$

John Doe, 8, of Florida owes his life to the quick thinking and immediate response of his father James Doe when he was bitten by a cottonmouth. Young Doe was having the time of his life enjoying the lakeside when a wild snake bit him on his right leg.

Young Doe’s loud cries were heard by his father who was nearby and immediately applied first aid. He called 911 immediately and followed the dispatcher’s instructions. Miraculously, the family had brought with her a snakebite suction kit. He also made sure that the leg was positioned below the chest until the rescuers arrived. According to the father, he was advised by the dispatcher to avoid putting a tourniquet or applying any compresses while waiting for them.

Currently, the young boy is still nursing a sore right leg. He claimed to have been feeling nauseated for a great amount of time after the bite. After further medical treatments, the doctors declared that Young Doe is already stable and out of danger.
