Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a disease that affects heart or blood vessels.

Hypertension can damage heart, blood vessels and other body organs if continues for a long period of time.

Stroke is an acute injury in which blood flow to the brain is interrupted.

Stroke is similar to heart attack because both can occur when there is a blockage in blood flow.

Heart attack happens in the heart and stroke happens inside the brain.

Studies have shown that it can develop during adolescence or even childhood.
Developing early healthy habits will become one’s daily routine. This routine will be a lifelong commitment to a rewarding healthy life reducing the chance of having CVD.

Developing healthy habits during younger years will become one’s lifelong routine thus reducing the chance of having CVD.

Decisions I can do today to replace unhealthy ones:

-Decide to give oneself enough sleep time instead of staying late at night.
-Choose to have a proper breakfast instead of skipping it.

-Make time to do exercise even if the schedule is packed.

Dear Ella,

As I am writing you this letter I hope that you are in good health.
In our recent topic about CVD, we know that it mostly comes out when we get older but it doesn’t mean that we can abuse our lifestyle today.
Our body adapts and responds itself depending on how we treat it over time. If we choose to have a healthy lifestyle starting today, we will have a lesser chance of worrying about it in the future.
