Ankle sprains are the most common injuries in all sports. The majority ankle sprains heal very well with a brief period of immobilization followed by an exercise program and short rest from sports. Knee pain is also very common, especially among the girls. This often happens due to different degrees of muscle imbalance and high activity levels. Physical therapy shows good results in solving knee pain. Osgood-Schlatter disease is an inflammation of the area just below the knee where the patellar tendon attaches to the tibia. Treatments are rest, stretching, ice, and possibly an over-the-counter knee strap. Little Leaguer’s Elbow includes any elbow pain during excessive throwing. It is the classic overuse injury. Treatment includes rest but some could require surgery. ACL tear is injury of anterior cruciate ligament. It is a stabilizing ligament of the knee that is torn during an uncontrolled twisting motion. This condition almost always requires surgery, and recovery is at ÄŤeast 7-9 months. To prevent those injuries you should always follow the instructions and safety guidelines your athletic trainer gave to you. Avoid working out while overly fatigued. WOrk to develop muscle groups evenly and create a balance between strength and flexibility. Stretch properly and practice good technique. Wearing proper equipment and safety equipment should help you prevent injuries as well. Don`t forget to eat a healthy and balanced diet and have healthy habits in general.

Earlier this week, I have done several things which helped protect my bones and prevented any injuries. First, I took calcium and vitamin D supplements to ensure that my bones are nourished with the vitamins and minerals they need. Second, I got off of the bus one stop earlier so I can do some extra walking time. This physical activity can help increase bone mass. Moreover, I made sure that I get 8 hours of sleep every night so my body is fully rested.
