Paul lived a perfect childhood. He had a dream of becoming a soccer player. So he followed his dreams and grew into a beautiful young man, playing in his school soccer team. At age 18 he was about to finish his growth but things started to change significantly. He continued his growth rapidly until somewhere around his 30`s. It was obvious that he has the growth disorder called gigantism. It’s a rare disorder caused by a tumor inside the brain which causes the pituitary gland to secrete an excess amount of growth hormone (in some cases without stopping). He was scary and even had some psychological issues. The most difficult for him was the fact that he needed to stop playing soccer. He couldn’t deal with that for a long time. Also, people started to look at him differently and he felt like a freak. It took him somewhile to deal with it, accept it and start to learn to live with his disorder.
