Exercise 1
Step 1
1 of 4
In this section, you are asked to get together with three classmates and make a list of activities (from the options listed in section 17) that you all can agree would be fun to do at a class party.
The example dialogue reads:
A: What do you want to do at the party?
B: I want to listen to music but I don’t want to swim.
Step 2
2 of 4
First, you’ll want to re-familiarize yourself with the activities listen back in number 17, at the top of this page.
Step 3
3 of 4
Go through the list and ask your classmates what they would like to do that party, as shown in the example. Note that *querer* is in the second-person, singular (*tĂş*) form in the question, meaning it’s meant to be asked to one person. If you would like to ask your group generally what they would all like to do, you have to use the third-person, plural form of *querer*, *quieren*.
Step 4
4 of 4
When you respond, you will use the first-person, singular (*yo*) form of *querer*, *quiero*. Like in the example, use *no* before *quiero* to say you don’t want to do something. Additionally, you can say *tambien* after saying something you want to do, if you want to agree with an activity someone has previously said. For example, “*quiero comer pizza tambiĂ©n”*.
