Exercise 1
Step 1
1 of 3
In this activity, you are to ask three of your classmates about their opinions of the nouns from the previous exercise. The example reads:

A: “What are the books like?”
B: “The books are horrible/fun.”

Step 2
2 of 3
Since these answers are subjective, you will only be provided with a few tips in order to ask and answer correctly. As you can see in the example, the way to ask someones opinion on something is to use *cómo*, followed by the correct form of *ser*, followed by a definite article and a noun. For example, to ask a classmate their opinion on vegetables, you would say “*¿Cómo son las verduras?*”, using *son* because *las verduras* is plural.
Step 3
3 of 3
To respond to these questions, you’ll see that the formula is:
Definite article + noun + form of *ser* + adjective.
You’ll need to make sure that all four of these parts must agree in number and gender, where applicable. To answer the question we constructed in the last step, you might say *Las verduras son horribles*.
You’ll see that *las* is plural and feminine, *verduras* is plural and necessarily feminine, *son* is plural (and the same regardless of gender), and *horribles* is plural (and the same regardless of gender).
