Exercise 1
Step 1
1 of 4
In this question we will have to include:
-Greeting
-Introductions including how to learn someone’s name
-How to learn where someone is from
– Introducing a third person to another classmate.
Step 2
2 of 4
Let’s look at an example of how this conversation might start:
*A: ¿Hola, cómo estás?
B: Estoy bien, ¿cómo estás?
A: Estoy bien, gracias. ¿Cómo te llamas?
B: Me llamo (B), ¿Y tú?
A: Me llamo (A)*
Step 3
3 of 4
Now we have to learn where your partner is from and tell them where you’re from. To do this we will be using forms of the verb *ser*. Since we’re partnering with a classmate, we will be using the familiar form (without usted).
Your conversation might continue as follows:
*A: ¿De dónde eres?
B: Soy de Colombia, ¿de dónde eres?
A: Soy de Chile.*
Step 4
4 of 4
Finally, you have to introduce one another (you and your partner) to another classmate. Look back to page 10 and you’ll see how to refer to a third person in a conversation. Recall that the Spanish for *this* will change depending on the gender identity of your partner. Make sure you are remaining correct and consistent with the gender of your words. For example, your conversation might end as such:
*A: ¡Hola, (C)! Éste es (B) y es de Colombia.
B: Mucho gusto, (C). Éste es (A) y es de Chile.
C: Mucho gusto, mucho gusto.
