Exercise 1
Step 1
1 of 4
In this section you are asked to discuss the things that you enjoy doing with a small group of your classmates, in order to find out what things you have in common.
The example reads:
R: I like to play soccer. I don’t like to play video games.
F: I like playing video games. I also like listening to music.
C: I like going to parties. Do you all like going?
R&F: Yes, we like to go to parties.
Step 2
2 of 4
You’re asked, in the prompt, to first write down three things you enjoy doing on the weekends. Let’s say, for example, that you write down playing tennis (*jugar al tenis*), spending time alone (*pasar al rato solo*) and going shopping (*ir de compras*). Then, you will simply follow the example for a basic outline of what your conversation should look like.
Step 3
3 of 4
Note how in the example, Felipe uses *”a mĂ*” to emphasize the fact that while Roberto may not like video games, he, Felipe, certainly does! He also uses the word *”tambiĂ©n”* which will probably be used a lot in this conversation, both to say something that you also enjoy doing (as Felipe uses it) or to agree with someone and say “yes, I ALSO like doing this thing”.
Step 4
4 of 4
If you want to ask your group if they like something, you will do as Carla does and ask “*Âżles gusta (infinitive)?*”. If you want to ask just one person, you will use *le* instead of *les* in your question.
