Since our subject is very intellectual, logically they must read more than they play video games. We will choose *libros* as our subject’s preferred noun. As per the example, we need to make sure to add the definite article before the noun, making it *los libros*.

You learned on page 62 that the *tú* form of *gustar* is *te gusta(n)*. Since our object is plural (*los libros*), we will use the plural *gustan* to agree.
According to our example, we will follow this with *más*, in order to say that they like this option “more” than the other option. Follow this with the definite article and noun from step 3.

Te gustan más los libros.

Our second sentence reads, “my friends Juan and Beti are athletic”. (music, sports).

The subject of this sentence is obviously “my friends Juan and Beti” or said another way, “they”. Since our subject is plural, you can see that the form of *ser* we are given and the adjective (*atléticos*) are also plural.

Since our subjects are athletic, it is presumed that they like sports more than they like music. As per the example, we need to make sure we include the definite article before the noun. In this case, *los deportes*.

We can see on page 62 that *les gusta(n)* is how to say “they like”. Since *los deportes* is plural, we’ll keep the “-n” at the end of *gustan* to agree with the noun. Per the example, we’ll follow *les gustan* with *más* and then our noun, complete with the definite article.

In this exercise, you are asked to choose the noun that the subjects probably like more, given their personalities. The example reads:

Our third sentence reads, “Teresa is very extroverted”. (parties/books).

We can see that “Teresa” is the subject of our sentence, both from the inclusion of her name and the fact that it is followed by *es*. Since Teresa is extroverted, it makes sense that she would prefer socializing at parties over reading books alone. As per the example, we’ll need to add the definite article before *fiestas*. Since *fiestas* is plural and feminine, we will precede it with *las*, which is also plural and feminine.

On page 62 you learned that *le gusta(n)* is how you say “she likes” in Spanish. We’ll keep the “-n” at the end of *gustan* since the thing that Teresa likes is plural (*fiestas*). Per the example, remember to add *más* after *le gustan* to show she prefers fiestas over books.

In this exercise, you are asked to choose the noun that the subjects probably like more, given their personalities. The example reads:
“We are very romantic.” (romantic movies/horror movies)
“We like romantic movies more”.

Our fourth sentence reads, “I am a little lazy.” (video games/sports)

Since our form of *ser* is *soy* (which is the *yo* form), we know that the subject of this sentence is “I”.

Since our subject is a little lazy, it would make sense that they might prefer video games to sports. We have to remember to add the definite article before our chosen noun in order to make our final sentence grammatically correct. Since *videojuegos* is masculine and plural, our definite article will be *los*.

We know from page 62 (and even earlier in this textbook) that the *yo* form of *gustar* is *me gusta(n)*. Since our noun is plural (*los videojuegos*) we need to keep the “-n” at the end of *gustan*. And of course, per the example, follow *me gustan* with *más*.

Our subject is given to us as *ustedes*. Since our subjects are pretty serious, it stands to reason that they might prefer mystery books to uplifting, romantic films. Since *libros de misterio* is masculine and plural, we’ll add the matching definite article: *los*.

On page 62, you learned that the *ustedes* form of *gustar* is *les gusta(n)*. Since our noun is plural *los libros*, we will use *gustan* to agree. Following this with *más*, as per the example, and the noun and article from the previous step, we can construct our sentence.

In this exercise, you are asked to choose the noun that the subjects probably like more, given their personalities. The example reads:
“We are very romantic.” (romantic movies/horror movies)
“We like romantic movies more”.

Our final sentence reads, “we are not very active”. (sports/adventure movies)

Here we have to return to analyzing our form of *ser* to figure out our subject. Since *somos* is the *nosotros* form of *ser*, our subject is therefore *nosotros*.

Since our subject (“we”) is not very active, it makes sense that watching adventure movies, and not playing sports, would be the preferred activity. The example shows us we need to add the definite article before *películas de aventuras*. Since *películas de aventuras* is feminine and plural, the correct definite article will be *las*.

We learned on page 62 that the *nosotros* form of *gustar* is *nos gusta(n)*. We’ll keep the “-n” at the end of *gustan* to agree with our plural noun, “las películas de aventuras*. To construct our final sentence, we will use *nos gustan* followed by *más*, and finally our preferred noun and article from the previous step.
