What is Circulatory System?
The circulatory system is a vital organ system that is responsible for transporting nutrients, oxygen, hormones, and other essential substances throughout the body. It includes the heart, lungs, arteries, veins, and capillaries. The heart acts as a pump to move blood around the body. Blood transports oxygen from the lungs to the cells of our body and carries carbon dioxide out of our cells back to the lungs where it can be exhaled. The circulatory system plays an important role in regulating blood pressure and maintaining a healthy balance of electrolytes within our blood stream. It also helps regulate temperature by carrying heat away from certain areas of our body such as after exercise or when we are exposed to cold temperatures outside. Additionally, it helps to provide immunity against toxins and harmful microorganisms that enter our bodies through contaminated food or water sources while also helping in healing wounds by aiding in clotting blood at sites of injury or infection. The process of circulation begins with oxygen-rich air entering into your nose or mouth and into your lungs where it is exchanged for carbon dioxide before entering into the left side of your heart where it can then be pumped around your body via arteries which branch off from larger vessels called arterioles before eventually reaching small capillaries which transport these essential substances directly into cells before returning via veins which collect deoxygenated blood from all parts of your body back up to your right side atrium which passes this depleted substance on to your right ventricle so that it can be reoxygenated again before beginning its journey again. In conclusion, without our circulatory system none of us would exist. This amazing organ system ensures that we receive all necessary nutrients while also helping us regulate temperature and providing us with immunity against toxins. So let’s take care of this vital organ by eating healthily, exercising regularly and getting enough rest -all in order to keep our hearts pumping strong.
