For this exercise, you have to read the leaflet on page 461.

The leaflet talks about the urgent situation dogs in Spain are in. The person who wrote it says they live in Switzerland but are aware of the grave problems dogs are in Spain due to abuse. They say that every day dogs from Spain arrive to Switzerland, being saved from death or abuse. They wrote a petition to help them, to make their life in Spain better and to protect their welfare by laws.

This is a continuation of exercise 2, where you had to respond to some questions after reading a leaflet about the bad situation dogs are in in Spain.

In this exercise, in groups, you have to share your answers with the other groups. You also have to think of other things that could be done to help the animals, to protect their rights and lives, so that they no longer have to suffer abuse, abandonment and possible death.

Make your own leaflet with the propositions and ideas and explain why people should take care of animals.

Investigate the dog situation in your own community, see if there is anything that can be done and there you will come up with some ideas for your leaflet. Also, look online to see how leaflets are usually done, what makes them attractive to attract interest and that will make people take notice and get involved.
