When the seventh man was a boy, a great typhoon overtook his small town and killed his best friend as well. For years, he had nightmares about drowning, about K taking him and having guilt that he did not run over and pull his friend off the shore. When his father died of cancer, his brother sent him a box of things, which included paintings from his friend and at first he could not look at them. Eventually, he took the time to really look at them and began to understand that he had let the guilt take him over and ruin his life and the joys he once felt and that his friend K embraced. He returned home to sit where the tragedy had happened and let the guilt and pain wash away with the waves that he could once again sit in.
