Why I Want to Go to Johns Hopkins University Essay Example
There are various reasons motivating me to transfer to John Hopkins University. JSU’s academic programs, extracurricular activities, and campus life are very attractive to me.
John Hopkins University has secured its position as America’s first and leading research university. For the last 38 years, the university has been leading in the number of resources invested in research and development. This culture has attracted distinguished faculty members from all over the world who mentor students in their respective fields of interests be it humanities, health professions, engineering, music, education or even arts. As a computer science major, I would benefit immensely from research facilities and culture at JSU to develop good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Another factor attracting me to JSU is their diversity. JSU students come from diverse backgrounds and have interests in different areas. The university
...has over 400 student-run clubs and organizations. I am very interested in HopHacks which encourages students to work in teams to actualize computer hardware or software ideas. The organization events attract tech giants like Facebook, Microsoft, Bloomberg and other renowned industry players who sponsor, mentor and even recruit participants. I would also love to join Upsilon Pi Epsilon honor society which recognizes excellent students in computer information disciplines.
JSU diversity is further improved by its international students which come from all over the world. I am excited to learn about and interact with students from different countries and cultures which can help with my personal growth and offer numerous opportunities in the future. JSU conducts research and training in over 150 countries worldwide. I would be excited to land a research opportunity in a different part of the world.

also has a sporting culture. The university has 24 Varsity teams where the majority of students participate in intramural or club sports. I would also love to try to participate in their Spring Fair event where students converge for three days for music and fun. Through sports, I can forge lifetime friendships with fellow students, develop teamwork skill and improve my mental health and physical toughness.
Lastly, JSU offers students an enjoyable campus life experience. The University has adequate residential halls where students can choose from traditional residence halls with roommates to suites with kitchenettes and private bathrooms. Students can also choose to live off campus in apartments near different campuses. The university has well fitted recreational facilities accessible to its students. All these factors have attracted me to John Hopkins University.
