What is Three Years Old?
Being three years old is an exciting time for a child. They are just beginning to really explore the world around them and make discoveries about the things they like and don’t like. At three, children are usually curious, energetic, and eager to learn new things. At this age, children are learning to express themselves through language. They can understand basic commands such as sit down or come here but may have difficulty expressing their own thoughts and needs. They may use gestures, point at objects when they want something, or make funny sounds to communicate what they want or need help with.At three years old, children are developing motor skills and coordination. They can walk on their own now and may even be running. As their motor skills improve, so does their ability to draw simple shapes often circles as well as stack blocks or puzzles pieces together in order of size or color. Children of this age often develop a strong imagination that helps them create stories while playing with toys or playing pretend games with friends and siblings. This is also when they start getting interested in books and being read stories by adults who can help expand their vocabulary beyond single words like doggy or juice into more complex sentences such as Can I please have some juice? At three years old children are just starting out on their journey of learning about the world around them. With love, patience, guidance (and lots of hugs.) parents can help foster this process so that these little minds continue growing into bright futures ahead.
