What is Neurons In The Brain?
Neurons are the most important cells in the human brain, as they are responsible for sending and receiving messages throughout the body. Neurons act as a communication system within the brain and between different parts of the body. They are responsible for transmitting signals between neurons, which allow us to think, feel, move, learn and remember.Neurons come in different shapes and sizes depending on their function. The most common type is called a multipolar neuron which has three or more branches that originate from a cell body. These branches connect with other neurons via synapses where chemical messengers called neurotransmitters are released to communicate information about a certain action or stimulus to other connected neurons. The structure of these synapses is what allows us to have complex thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Neurons can also be classified by their location in the brain; sensory neurons detect external stimuli like touch or sound while motor neurons control muscles movement when responding to an internal signal from another neuron. Interneurons link sensory and motor neurons together while associative interneurons help create connections between different parts of the brain allowing us to remember things we’ve learned before or learn new tasks faster than without them. Each neuron has its own individual purpose but they all work together to create complex thought processes that make up our personalities, memories and behavior patterns. Without these amazing cells we wouldn’t be able to experience life as we know it today.
