Around 9,000 years ago, the inhabitants of a town in Catalogue engaged in various activities such as farming, crafting tools and weapons, domesticating animals, creating wall paintings at home, and hunting and gathering. They resided in an equal society with a lifespan of about 30-34 years. Subsequently, the Stone Age was categorized into two distinct periods: the Paleolithic era and the Neolithic era.

The Stone Age is named after the fact that most tools made by hominids were composed of stone. In the Paleolithic era, hominids acquired the skill to manipulate fire and applied it in tool production. They also participated in cave wall paintings and created Jewelry. In the last phase of this period, technological progress resulted in population growth. Homo sapiens sapiens invented more intricate tools s
...uch as sewing needles and arrowheads. It was with these advanced implements that a famous cave painting in Lascar, France was discovered.
The location of the paintings in the cave, where sound echoed the most, also indicated the development of language and musical ceremonies. During the transition from the Paleolithic to Neolithic Age, also known as the Neolithic Revolution, climate changes took place, benefiting crop production. Consequently, they were able to effectively handle food and engage in trade with nearby as well as distant settlements. As a result of their increasing interactions, wealth, status, and rank evolved.
The Ice Age resulted in an abundance of cold-loving animals, which moved along with the shifting glaciers. Humans also followed these animal species while some chose to remain in warmer climates. After the Ice Age, humans transitioned from gathering food
to producing it. Improved climates resulted in a greater food supply. As a result of this revolution, women were able to have more children and men relinquished an equal role in childcare.
The Neolithic Revolution occurred as a response to the increase in population, which was accompanied by terminal infectious diseases. People discovered methods to produce excess food for the expanding population and domesticated animals. They also learned that planting and storing seeds could protect against flooding and unfavorable weather conditions. This development brought numerous advantages, such as utilizing animal power for transportation and milling. It marked the final phase before these settled communities evolved into cities.
