The course highlighted several important ways to enhance literacy learning, such as utilizing formative assessments and implementing formal extensive training. It also emphasized the importance of promoting digital literacy and implementing school-wide comprehension approaches.

The purpose of formative assessments is to monitor and improve student performance. These assessments also help teachers improve their teaching methods through interactions with students. Professional training from a qualified trainer can assess a teacher's development skills, even in the classroom. Digital literacy is crucial for students to keep up with evolving technology. To ensure all education stakeholders, including students, parents, and teachers, are on the same instructional level, a school-wide comprehension approach is necessary. settings.

The decision I am making is based on the criteria that the idea fits well into the school improvement action plan and has real-world application in an ideal education setting. Digital literacy is a good fit for the school improvement action plan, particularly in the organization area I have chosen for the K-8 school. The school improvement plan specifically defines the targeted work of a school in raising the academic achievement of all students (Duke, Carr ; Sterrett, 2013). There are several connections between digital literacy and the school improvement plan. First, like the school improvement plan, digital literacy strengthens literacy development across all content areas. Additionally, it supports teachers in improving instruction to students and helps build leadership capacity. Implementing digital literacy in the K-8 school would enhance student achievement and benefit their performance.

skills can effectively use different technological platforms for learning in both formal and informal settings. This indicates that when students have the ability to access digital learning materials at school or home, it can positively influence the quality and quantity of knowledge they acquire. Moreover, digital literacy also improves teachers' capacity to deliver educational content, leading to enhanced academic performance among students.

When students have digital literacy skills, teachers can utilize digital equipment to better plan and organize their teaching schedule. This enhances the delivery of instruction, assessments, and evaluations to ensure high-quality education. Moreover, digital literacy is vital for a seamless transition from primary school to higher education institutions as it is recognized as an essential skill in higher learning. By combining literacy skills with digital resources, students are able to apply them practically and gain early exposure to potential career paths. The implementation of digital literacy activities will foster the development and growth of various leadership qualities, including coordination, ultimately improving my leadership abilities.

To implement the digital literacy program, we will need assistance from staff members in various positions. This includes coordinating and assigning roles to these individuals. Collaboration skills are crucial to create a learning-oriented environment. Additionally, improving communication skills is necessary to provide guidance and advice to colleagues and students throughout the program's implementation. Our objective is also to motivate both the school and stakeholders to adopt technology in the curriculum, serving as a catalyst for change within the institution.

Activity Objectives

The digital literacy activity has several aims. It includes enhancing students' confidence in utilizing technology for learning and research, supporting teachers by reinforcing their instructional methods, providing intervention for struggling students through

introducing performance-improving platforms, and ultimately changing the school culture's perception of ICT.

Real-World Application

I will be the sole custodian of change in the internship activity, specifically regarding technology. During my internship, I will have several responsibilities. One of these responsibilities is coordinating the various roles of teachers in promoting digital literacy at the school. Additionally, I will be responsible for allocating resources necessary for implementing the digital literacy program. Another task will be designing and implementing lesson plans for the program.

How I will accomplish my objectives

Brainstorming on the school improvement initiative

This will be the initial step to ensure full support and implementation of the activity by the school.

It will involve setting the vision that all the stakeholders will be in support with. One way would be to envision how the school improvement plan would look like if the digital literacy activity was successful. Also, it will be at this point that teachers will be convinced to buy-in to the activity by promising them how it will improve quality of reading and writing for improvement of student literacy performance. The estimated time for this step is around 6-12 hours.

Documentation of the digital literacy action plan

There will be need to document the digital literacy action plan that will offer guidance to the literacy improvement efforts of the school. To come up with this plan, data on the writing and reading needs of students will be required and measurable literacy goals addressed.

There is a need to assess the school's current ability to promote digital

literacy by evaluating the available resources and related policies and practices. This step will take around 96 hours to complete.

Executing the digital literacy initiative

This phase marks the final stage of starting the digital literacy project. In this stage, teachers will be given specific tasks for delivering digital content and leading the overall implementation of the initiative.

Resources will be allocated and the students will have access to the digital literacy content based on their levels of need. The estimated timeframe will be around 72 hours.

Record Keeping

The process of keeping records for the outcomes of the various steps will primarily involve written documentation in soft copy. For example, the brainstorming session will require minutes, while the action plan in the second step and the final step will require records outlining responsibilities and assigned digital resources for the entire process.

Method of Evaluation

The impact of the digital literacy activity on overall student performance will be evaluated by subjecting students to continuous literacy assessment tests and comparing their current performance to their performance prior to the initiation of the activity.

Now that the activity also aims to enhance efficiency in content delivery, feedback from the teachers will serve as an evaluation tool to assess the achievements of the activity.
