In this way, believing in oneself can actually help one accomplish goals that otherwise would not have been achievable with just hoping for them instead of taking actionable steps towards achieving them.On the other hand, self-fulfilling prophecies can also lead to negative outcomes if used incorrectly or without thoughtfulness. If someone has low expectations for themselves then they might not put as much energy into a task and end up underperforming as a result; this could cause even further discouragement which perpetuates a cycle of negativity leading nowhere useful or productive. In either case though, it’s important to remember that our thoughts and beliefs do matter because they shape how we approach tasks and determine whether or not we succeed at them in the long run so having faith that you will reach your goals no matter what obstacles come your way is an essential part of reaching any level of success.
