Exercise 1
Step 1
1 of 3
Here you are asked to write about your family using the expressions that you learned in this chapter. Your answer should be around 5-8 sentences long, depending on how large your family is (or if your teacher gives you specific guidelines).
Step 2
2 of 3
To use the grammar points you learned in this lesson, you will want to describe where your family lives and what they do for a living. If you want to use a later grammar point from the same lesson, you can also describe their physical descriptions. To construct a more naturally flowing sentence, you could also use the て-form to join sentences, or give reasons for some of their attributes by using ‘~から.’ And if you don’t have the grammar or vocabulary to accurately express what your family does or where they live, either ask your teacher, consult a dictionary, or just make something up to utilize the Japanese that you have already learned—what’s most important is that you use accurate and natural Japanese.
Step 3
3 of 3
Remember to use the right form of vocabulary words to talk about members of your own family. ‘Someone else’s mother’ and ‘my mother’ are two different words in Japanese, and using them accurately is a necessary part of speaking correct Japanese.
