Frederick Douglas, abolitionist and author noted, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress” and here I stand as living proof. Good Morning distinguished faculty, family and fellow graduates my name is Regina Flowers and I represent one of the many voices of this graduating class of 2016. As I stand here in great honor today I think back to when I was a shy little girl being told I was not good enough, being teased about my hair and also my complexion. ter me from achieving my goals. When I was in my first year, I read a quote that was very encouraging "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." Since then, these words have been my point of reference in all my undertaking. Whenever I tried, anything and it appear from the look of events that I was definitely failing, I would draw inspiration from life of Thomas Edison. Failing meant learning a way of doing something perfectly.

above all rising above pressures that tend to discriminate us. If at we are to make change, the time is now otherwise the change will restructure us and change us from our core focus. Let lead a life that shuns selflessness and embraces generosity because we a great debt of gratitude and a unique responsibility to our families, community nation and the whole world. The achievements we are celebrating today, is not for our self-gratification but spearheading positive change in the world. We should not focus on selfish deals but rather be civically engaged. Changes other people’s lives is what I may term as the greatest source of joy and indeed the primary purpose of our training.

As we leave the university, we ought to remember and apply the greatest ability granted to us by our professors. For instance, we are now intellectual and conceptual thinks capable of understanding the differences that people hold on us. Our professors have exposed us to numerous conflicting explanations of the world. In philosophy, economics sociology and science, that clearly proves that world is tug of war among exiting and equally valuable realities and nothing like absolute truth exists. This has given us the ability of humbly voicing our thought once faced in an argument in a process of offering solution to world challenges. Most importantly, as conceptual thinkers, we stand a high chance of absorbing new materials and ideas naturally. As we, all that life outside college will be competitive and they skills we are equipped with are essential in maneuvering our way out.

Let all strive to impart change in the world using the skills we have acquired throughout
