What is Muscles?
Muscles are the tissues in the body that allow movement. They help us move, speak, and even breathe. Muscles come in all shapes and sizes, and they play an important role in keeping us healthy. Muscles are made up of bundles of fibers, which contract when we do any activity or exercise. Our muscles provide strength, power and flexibility to our movements. The three main types of muscle tissue are skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle. Skeletal muscles are those attached to bones throughout the body that control voluntary movement such as walking or running. Smooth muscles line blood vessels and intestines and are involved with involuntary movement such as digestion or circulation. Cardiac muscles make up the walls of the heart where it contracts rhythmically to pump blood throughout our bodies.Without strong muscles people wouldn’t be able to do everyday activities like lifting objects or walking around easily. Stronger muscles mean better posture which helps prevent injury from falls or strain from lifting objects incorrectly nor would we be able to perform sport activities like running a marathon or playing football without strong leg muscles for example. In addition they help maintain balance by stabilizing joints thus protecting against sprains and other injuries. Having stronger muscles also means better physical appearance since it helps reduce body fat while toning arms legs stomachs etc (depending on which exercises you’re doing). Moreover people with well developed musculature have more confidence in their physical ability leading to more self-confidence overall. Finally having stronger musculature can help regulate your hormones leading to improved moods sleep patterns etc. All these benefits make exercising (which is essential for building muscle) worth it.
