What is Low Grade Fever?
Low grade fever (LGF) is a medical condition that is characterized by an increase in body temperature, usually between 37.5-38 degrees Celsius (99.5-100.4 Fahrenheit). The cause of LGF can vary depending on the individual’s circumstances but it typically results from infection or inflammation. Common symptoms associated with low grade fever include headache, chills, fatigue, and general feeling of malaise. In some cases, people may also experience nausea and vomiting as well as muscle aches and pains. The most common treatments for low grade fever are rest and fluids to help reduce the body temperature gradually while allowing time for the underlying cause to be addressed appropriately. It is important to contact your doctor if you have any concerning symptoms such as confusion, chest pain or difficulty breathing so that appropriate testing can be done to identify any potential causes of LGF. In addition to resting and drinking plenty of fluids there are several home remedies that can help alleviate symptoms associated with low grade fever such as taking a warm bath or shower; adding Epsom salts or baking soda to baths; drinking herbal teas like ginger tea which has anti-inflammatory properties; applying cold compresses at regular intervals throughout the day; using essential oils like peppermint oil which helps relieve headaches; consuming foods rich in vitamin C such as citrus fruits or bell peppers which boost immunity and lastly getting enough sleep each night will help speed up recovery time significantly. It is important not to ignore any signs of illness even if they appear mild because these could indicate something more serious going on inside the body. If you’re experiencing prolonged periods of low grade fever then it’s best to seek medical advice so that treatment options can be discussed appropriately based on individual needs/circumstances.
