Introduction

In the modern society, the issue of global warming has generated a heated debated calling all sectors to take responsibility to contain it. People depending on their interests and understanding have addressed this issue with a different magnitude as per their own understanding. In the documentary film, Al Gore indicates that America is an industrialized country hence emitting so much carbon to the environment as opposed to the Kyoto Protocol. To affirm his points, Al Gore addresses the issues as an approaching crisis that should be tackled with an immediate effect. Developed over a period of 6 years, the film uses different photographs taken in different times which show contrast information with the recent ones showing how the rivers and lakes are shrinking with snows melting an indication that global warming is real. Notably, global warming refers to the entire increase of the average temperature of the planet. Many scientists have grown an enormous interest in investigating various factors that play a role in raising the overall temperature. Thus, global warming has been identified as the greatest problem that our earth faces. This paper seeks to discuss different opposing views on global warming as presented in various films.

warming under different perspectives. The film is credited as being successful since it contains a well-elaborated information trying to raise awareness on the issue of global warming. Currently, Most of the scientists argue that the entire production of some of the greenhouse gasses has a significant role that they play in causing this rise of temperature. Concerning this, production of gasses such as carbon dioxide is also identified as one of the greatest causes that increase the temperature. This is because they are said to have a heating effect on the entire planet, and this can be seen to be dangerous to the life of human being and other living organisms.

In a couple of years, scientists have developed a keen interest towards the reality behind the existence of global warming. Thus, some of them argue that global warming is a real thing and others assert that it is just a mere hoax. Affirming this argument, An Inconvenient Truth film assets with the use of graphs and charts that global warming is real hence people should accept and implement ways to fight this impending crisis. To put his point across, Al Gore argues that man is to blame for the global warming due to activities such as the burning of fossil fuels among others. Thus, global warming has several effects. For starters, global warming results to the melting of ice. The water derived from the melting of ice drains to oceans, rivers, and seas. As a result, the water level in these water bodies increases. The increase in water level propels the water bodies to break their banks. The water flows to dry land and destroys crops, property, and the environment and so on. Global warming also affects the climatic patterns.

These changes may be manifested through changes in annual rainfall, changes in annual temperatures, changes in wind patterns, and so on.

In contrary, the other short videos present opposing views as to that discussed in An Inconvenient film. As stated above, there is a small population that tends to believe that there is no global warming. As per my understanding, these people are referred as skeptical as they argue that there is no existence of global warming. According to these short films, global warming is a mere hoax that many people tend to believe that there is, hence opposing all discussions concerning global warming at all levels. As discussed, the authors assert that global warming is a notion that creates fear and panic to people. Further, they try to explain the perceptions that many individuals tend to have due to the concept of global warming. As stated in various studies, global warming is a phenomenon that has created numerous debates in the scientific field. This is because some people such as global warming believers argue that it is a real thing that occurs on our planet. They support their position by claiming that there is a sudden increase of temperature in various parts of the world. Concerning this, they argue that the increasing sea level is a good example that helps to support the existence of global warming.

What is the truth? How can ordinary citizens tell the truth from propaganda? What issues does this raise for technology in the area of ecology and global warming?

In the real world, global warming has been identified as the greatest phenomenon that has broken the scientific bonds. This is because it has emerged as a matter of discussion. This is where some people tend to believe that there is the existence of global warming and others believe that it is just a mere hoax or it does not exist. Scores of scientists are striving in this field of climate to support that the planet is warming and the most causative factor is human activities. With this regard, it is crucial to examine some of the facts that may help in proving the existence of global warming and the truth behind it. Both the supporters and opposers of global warming have presented strong opposing views leaving people confused whether there is truth in the matter of it’s just a mere propaganda.

Personally, I believe that global warming is real and in other terms it can be viewed and an impending crisis. For instance, in our today’s world, everyone sees an increase of temperature at unexpected levels. Other climatic changes are still occurring. For example, storms and tornados keep on happening and this indicates that global warming still exists. Greenhouse effect and global warming are vital aspects when it comes to issues concerning weather and climate. Greenhouse effect is a situation in which the atmosphere ensnares solar radiation. The solar radiation is caused by atmospheric gasses such as methane, carbon dioxide, water vapor, and so on. Global warming is the situation in which the earth’s temperatures increase.

The greenhouse effect contributes significantly to global warming. In reality, it is
