Hi, my name is Natalie. In our discussion today, we'll be focusing on the incorrect usage of Social Media channels. Unquestionably, we regularly interact with a variety of social platforms in our everyday routines. This interaction comes across various forms; from blogging to well-known sites like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr just to mention a few. Regrettably, it seems that some people are misusing these valuable resources. But what does this misuse entail? You'll find numerous examples in the following slide:

It cannot be denied that the inappropriate use of social media networks can result in a plethora of problems, such as spamming, cyber harassment, exposure to inappropriate content, and unpermitted access to others' profiles. It's highly probable that many of us have encountered spam at some point or another. In truth, some might have even

been on the receiving end of it or unintentionally initiated it. Spam is generally defined as an overwhelming amount of unwelcome messages. Taking into account this situation, it becomes clear that this user was surprised by an unexpected surge of page suggestions likely influenced by his Facebook friends. Needless to say, he's not expected to show interest in all these proposals. Dismissing all these recommendations would certainly become a tiresome and time-consuming chore for him.

The two images depict unnecessary clutter overwhelming an individual's inbox. The first image displays an email inbox inundated with a staggering 254 spam messages, which while difficult to fathom, illustrates the lengths spammers will go to pollute someone's inbox. The second image portrays a female persistently spamming a male's Facebook wall. She litters his wall with copious amounts of irrelevan

posts, and it is regrettable that this individual's iPhone or computer could potentially slow down while trying to load the influx of Facebook messages.

Let's shift our focus now to Cyber Bullying. I see eye-to-eye with the idea that cyber bullying is just as bad as physical bullying. Everyone is vulnerable to it, especially unsuspecting groups like us students. What exactly is meant by cyber bullying?

Cyberbullying is the act of using digital platforms, including the internet, to disseminate harmful or malicious content about a person with the aim of causing harm. Even though it does not result in physical injury, it undoubtedly leads to emotional suffering. The primary purpose of social media was designed for improving communication and fostering relationships rather than promoting cyberbullying.

Our next discussion revolves around the act of visiting pornographic websites on the Internet. It's likely a shared sentiment that such sites are seen as distasteful and repulsive. However, there are individuals lacking self-restraint or purpose in life that tend to misuse the internet for these mindlessly pointless websites.

My concluding point focuses on the matter of unauthorized access to others' accounts. Fundamentally, breaking into another person's account through hacking is ethically wrong and can be likened to a breach of their privacy. It may also be perceived as a distinct type of robbery, considering that it involves taking someone else’s identity.

My conversation today has highlighted the potential for social networks to be exploited in different manners. We might either become victims of such abuse or inadvertently contribute to it. Thus, I hope my talk has shed light on the possible dangers of misusing

social platforms and has encouraged us to be more conscious of our behavior and usage on these sites.
