I would like to thank my mom with helping me with my science project. She has helped me with researching the internet to find my science fair project. She helped me with finding the information that is needed to do my experiment and preparing my science proposals. She also helped me with researching the following information for my research paper.

At one time the most creative way that eggs were was at Easter time. They were colored, dyed, and decorated. There are a number of egg science projects that can be done, such as; eggs can be made to bounce; made to float; be made to spin; or even made to be sucked in a bottle.

Eggs are known to be resilient because of their exact shape. They are light and round. The weight of an egg is distributed around the egg’s shell. The strength of an egg can be determined by testing the weight and pressure that an egg shell can absorb in the nature of the egg experiment.

A raw or hardboiled egg can be used. The density of an egg will change depending on the experiment chosen. For instance when using vinegar in an egg experiment

the acetic acid that is in the vinegar and the high calcium that is in the eggshell will cause a reaction that will cause the egg’s shell to disappear. When using salt water in an egg experiment, the buoyancy of the egg will increases as salt is added to fresh water, which will cause changes in density of the egg. My science project I will show how I can make an egg bounce by following the proper procedures that I have researched on the internet to complete this experiment. With this experiment I will show the results of my findings by showing the change in the eggs density and the strength of each egg used in the experiment.

How to Make an Egg Bounce

My question for my science fair experiment is how can I make an egg bounce?

In my research the questions I will try to answer is which egg will break first? And which egg will bounce the highest?

I have visited different websites to read more information on how to make an egg bounce. I have visited sites such as; www.ehow.com, www.teachervision.fen.com, everything2.com, www.wonderhowto.com and YouTube.

In my experiment I will

use two eggs, one hard boiled and one raw. I will soak both of the eggs in vinegar and let them soak in the refrigerator for 3 days. After the eggs have soaked, I will check them to see if the shell has dissolved. I will have to make sure that the eggs are covered completely with the vinegar. When taking the eggs out, I have to make sure that the eggshells has dissolved completely because if it there is still eggshell left on the eggs then they won’t bounce.

Once I have examined the eggs, I will then take them out of the containers and place them on a paper towel. Once I have dried the eggs off, I will start to test each one to determine how high each one can bounce and which one will break first. I will do this experiment by dropping each egg no more than 2 inches from a tabletop. I will make a note of how many bounces it took before each egg broke. I will record this on my data sheet. Once I have completed this experiment, then I will be able to answer the question I have.
