For some it takes till they’re forty years old to find their bliss and for others it comes naturally. For me, I think I was placed in the middle. I wasn’t exactly sure where I was going, but I knew I wanted to get somewhere. Not so exactly as “confused” and “lost”. More of just standing in front of a two-way street and not sure which way to turn and which would be the best direction for me. Taking Life Career Planning as a course was one giant leap that helped me discover myself and what I want to pursue. Throughout this semester I discovered myself in a deep personal level I didn’t even know existed in me.

My meaning in life, my self-esteem, and what I value most in life. In the end I thi

nk I’ve accomplished a lot through this course. One of the first assignments was to talk about ourselves and what our purpose in life was. That was one of the most difficult questions for me to answer because I’ve never been asked that, nor get into deep conversations such as that. Thinking of my qualities, I realized that I am a very caring person and put others in front of me. I naturally take care of others when they need help and will put anything down at any moment to help them.

My meaning in life would be that helping hand. One who gives and doesn’t expect to receive. Seeing others happy is what motivates me. Taking this course helped me realize that maybe being a pediatrician would be a comfortable career that I could us

my caring qualities in, and a career I would enjoy! I know that I’m emotionally, physically and mentally stable in how I view myself, before joining this course. My only problem was to figure out what my dream career was. To be certain on which direction I am going towards. I’m capable of following through with a goal as long as I know what that goal may be.

Now I stand a little taller and more confident of where I am going and the decisions I’m making because of this course. My self-actualization I feel I have I had no problem in. I did at first in just interpersonal relations, considering I’m a closed off person emotionally wise. Realizing this was a problem I started slowly working on opening up more. This has only lead to even more positive outcomes in my life. Growing up, I’ve noticed that everything happens for a reason. Taking the LOC test is no brainer I was categorized as an ELOC.

I let everything naturally take its course and accept it as life goes on. My self-esteem level is very high. I never had any problem on the way I feel about myself emotionally, physically, or mentally. I grew up in an accepting environment where people loved me for me. If they didn’t I knew not to bother or worry about it. I never had the idea to try to fit with others. As long as I was happy for myself, I had nothing to worry about. Emotional intelligence, I think I’ve done a good job on how to determine my moods and as well as others. How

to deal with them maturely.

I’ve grown up learning to have patience which I think in the long run has helped me be a better person, so I can tolerate a lot. Having a good emotional intelligence ties in with having a good social intelligence. I think I have good listening skills and can relate to others so they can understand that they are not the only ones. Since I’m so friendly and social, I end up having a wide variety of friends of all race and religion. I think I’m a very diverse person who is open for anything new. One major thing I value is family. After family are friends. Those would be my top values.

What I’d like to find in them is trust and honesty. I feel those are major values because without those, where do you stand or continue to go forward? My personality test report shows that I’m a ENTP. Meaning some careers I’d enjoy would be careers those such as a radio/tv talk show host, or an actor. From the interest inventory, I realized that I’m more interested in outside social work with flexible hours . I think this course has changed me in many positive ways. I’m now more confident and clear of where I want to be in life. Now I know myself inside and out. Yet theres still the rest of my life to discover!
