What I Would Get Rid of to Improve Life in the 21st Century Essay Example
In an aging society, the challenges we face are becoming increasingly complex as our knowledge rapidly expands. The 21st century offers a unique opportunity to address these issues and support future generations. However, the current examination process is arduous for many students who may not feel adequately prepared. They must demonstrate their knowledge to examiners who can be aggressive and demanding, resulting in only a select few being chosen while the majority struggle. These students often face ridicule for underperforming on a single day without any chance of redemption. Exams disrupt our daily routines as they consume our time with constant reviewing and repetition, ultimately determining our destiny as time slips away relentlessly. The outcome of exams rests on a solitary letter that has the power to shape our future, making success incredibly challenging due to
...ever-changing grading criteria. The immense pressure placed on vulnerable minds often leads them to succumb to exam stress, even for well-behaved and civilized students who believe they have squandered their final opportunity to excel. It is draining to prepare for exams when the grading system is harsh and demoralizing, all while witnessing the destruction of trees that provide us with life-sustaining air – all this just for a single letter on a line.
The harmful effects of exams and excessive homework due to advanced technology have led to a call for their ban in education. Teachers, with the assumption that students know everything because of internet access, often set unrealistic expectations and disregard limited attention spans. This can result in distractions and wasted hours, ultimately leading to disappointing work. Some teachers even expect overnight completion of full essays usin
computers, despite prohibiting copying from Wikipedia. To prevent plagiarism, students must ensure that every word is their own. While imagining a world without technology-related homework may seem stress-free for students, it is important to recognize the dangers associated with incorrect technology use, such as detrimental social networking sites that hinder vocabulary development. The rise of digital communication through texting, emailing, and social media has diminished face-to-face interactions and traditional forms of communication like letter writing. Despite its advantages, this shift promotes slang and informal language usage while also exposing individuals to cyberbullying and grooming. It is disheartening how some people find satisfaction in psychologically harming others through online bullying.Unfortunately, the progress in technology has enabled this harmful practice to occur. This unsettling pattern makes me long for a future where there is not constant advancement in sophisticated technology.
