The Impact of Slavery on Racial Inequality in Poverty in the Contemporary USA Essay Example
Despite the existence of civil rights legislation, the concept of racial differences still becomes rampant and the rate of poverty increases continuously. In this study, we will evaluate the different relationship that exists between the con customer slavery and the high rate of poverty. There is inequality in the society, and the slaves are the most affected with their concerns of poverty. Besides, the racial race disparities and the black-white inequality had become a major concern in the South America. There was the difference between the blacks and the whites which increased the poverty gap in that particular society. The blacks were the main subjects of slavery and the rate of poverty that was reported in the blacks was very high. The high rate of slavery in the South America is a major component that makes us understand the high rate of racial inequalities that exists. Racial inequality is a major component that depicts the type of life that different blacks were being subjected to. Despite the efforts that were made to reduce the level of inequalities that existed significantly, there was no clear set out a procedure that could effectively bring change. In the current American society, the aspect of racial inequality still exists despite the various legal conditions that have been implemented. There is a lot of differences between the social and the economic conditions of different individuals. In the United States, the economic conditions that exist indicate the manner in which the society needs to address some of the issues related to race.
However
a national threat, as well as racial discrimination, is one of the significant factors that is used to describe poverty inequality. When individuals are exposed to various types of threats from their prosperities, they will not be able to undertake different projects of development. The blacks in South America were economically disadvantaged and could not have any influence on the economic development of the society (O'Connell, 2012). The economic disadvantage mainly existed due to the increase in discriminations in the labor market. Slaves were never given an opportunity to express any of their grievances, but instead, they were subjected to hard labor and perceptions. There was no time for the slaves to make their personal development.
In fact, slaves had a low quality education which could not earn them any significant income. They were being discriminated despite the efforts that were being made. The high rate of discrimination was the primary cause of spatial distribution of racial inequality. Since slaves had no chance to make personal development, they could not effectively develop to improve their status. They were not able to come up with strategies that could help them to change their conditions effectively. Various improvements had to be put in place to make sure that there was efficient development in the blacks. The discriminations and the lack of opportunities that was rampant in the society needed to be addressed and strategies that could enhance economic growth promoted. This effort would effectively reverse the existing inequality between the different races. Both the blacks and the whites have an equal chance to undertake personal developments to transform the inequality in wealth distribution.
