What is Uniform Crime Report?

The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is a comprehensive compilation of data on crime in the United States, produced by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Initially created in 1929, this report provides annual statistics for law enforcement agencies across the country to use in analyzing and comparing criminal activity. The UCR also collects data on hate crimes based on bias against race/ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or disability status; as well as police officers killed or assaulted while performing their duties each year.
