What is Project Management Process Groups?
Project management is the process of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. The Project Management Process Groups are five distinct phases, each of which has its own set of activities that need to be completed in order for a project to reach its desired outcome. These groups include initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing. The Initiating phase is the first step in starting any type of project; it involves gathering initial requirements from stakeholders and defining what success looks like for this particular project. During this phase key decisions are made such as selecting a team leader or manager for the project as well as setting up an estimated budget for the duration of the entire initiative. It also includes developing a charter document that outlines all aspects related to the project’s scope and objectives. The Planning phase entails taking all information gathered during initiation and creating a detailed plan on how to successfully complete the project within budgeted time frames while meeting stakeholder expectations along with other criteria outlined in the charter document. This stage requires careful consideration by everyone involved so that tasks can be allocated correctly based on individual capabilities and timelines created accordingly to ensure completion dates are met without sacrificing quality or functionality within each deliverable due date. In Executing phase all planned processes become actions carried out by assigned members on their respective tasks until they are finalized according to guidelines established previously during Initiation/Planning stages – at this point results start showing up but there may still be room for improvement depending on feedback received from stakeholder evaluations after testing period(s).
