What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement, and it is a field that continues to grow in popularity. Kinesiology encompasses the study of the body’s structure, physiology, and biomechanics and how these all relate to physical activity. It focuses on the understanding of how our bodies move and react to different activities. This field can be used in many ways, from helping athletes improve their performance to aiding those recovering from injury or illness.Kinesiology looks at all aspects of movement including human anatomy, muscle contraction, joint mechanics, neuromuscular control, and balance among many other topics. Kinesiologists assess a person’s strength and flexibility as well as design conditioning programs to help them reach their goals. They may also work with athletes to develop sport-specific skills such as running form or lifting technique. Additionally, kinesiologists may provide support for individuals recovering from injury by creating rehabilitation plans that will help them return safely to their activities. Kinesiology can be studied in both an academic setting as well as a practical setting through hands-on training or apprenticeships with qualified professionals. Kinesiologists must have an extensive knowledge base in order to diagnose and treat clients effectively while keeping safety at the forefront of all care plans. In addition to working directly with patients on physical therapy exercises or sports performance training sessions they must also be aware of ethical considerations when treating patients such as informed consent laws or privacy regulations depending on what state they are practicing in. Overall Kinesiology is an important field that has become increasingly relevant over time due its ability not only assist those needing rehabilitation but also enhance performance for athletes both recreational and professional alike by providing personalized care plans tailored specifically for each individual patient or athlete based on their unique needs which is why it continues be a growing field today.
