I was born and grew up in Japan. Over a span of several years, I have gained immense knowledge and teaching background in modern Japanese language 1A at the University. Aside from that, I have gained a lot of experience in teaching as an immersion teacher in both Japanese and English languages at K12 level in my arts class for a period of six years. This has been possible as I have had an M.A. in Linguistics which has enabled me to teach well at that level. I have briefly and exhaustively written about my teaching philosophy as shown below.

anese language as their second language, motivations and interests tend to play a significant role in the entire process of learning. My previous major was arts education and Japanese art was always closely tied to my career and life. This experience helped me to avail comprehensive topics related to culture besides language teaching in my Japanese class. Having the experience of being a student and learning American arts in my second language, I realized that there was little language barrier in perceptual and hand on activities, and these are powerful tool to of learning a language.

learning and experience as an art educator. This has been crucial in integration of second language teaching formulas.
It is also important to have an accurate understanding of my own language and to explain clearly including the things that I take for granted as a native speaker. Through my experience in teaching Japanese language at higher education level, I got an opportunity to deeply explore pure methodological Japanese language teaching. I have been able to learn second language teaching theologically and also practically throughout my career.
