Essays on Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that all students have a right to gain knowledge and thrive. To this end, I strive to create an environment where my students feel safe to express themselves while also challenging them intellectually. My goal is to provide individualized instruction tailored to each student’s needs and learning styles in order for them to reach their maximum potential. I believe in fostering a sense of inclusion among different backgrounds, cultures, and points of view as well as encouraging critical thinking skills in order for students come up with unique solutions. I also value the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents/guardians so that we can work together towards our shared vision of success for each child. In addition, I am passionate about using technology in the classroom as it provides us with powerful tools for hands-on learning opportunities & exploration beyond what may be possible without it. Through the use of online resources such as video lectures, interactive websites, eBooks, etc., my hope is that each learner will become self-directed learners who are able to efficiently access information on their own when needed outside the classroom setting. Above all else though, I believe that every student deserves respect regardless of background or ability level; by treating each one with kindness & empathy they are more likely to open up which will allow us both to learn from one another’s experiences & perspectives.
