People like listening to sad music; although sad music many individuals believes that it induces sadness. Contrary many people do not like things associated with any form of misfortune, so why people like listening to sad music? To correctly and precisely answer this question an investigation, research was conducted were 44 participants listened to the music and provided data according to how they perceived and their emotions. Was done by recording descriptive words relating to the emotions blithe, romantic and many ambivalent emotions that were measured on the scale that range from 0(not at all) to 4 (so much).

All the participants were reached upon by signing an informed consent agreement. Three types of music excerpts that participants listened were used these are: Blumenfeld's Etude “Sur Mer”(g minor), Glinka’s La Separation (f minor) and Granados’s Allegro da Concierto (sharp major).

Well, known music instruments were avoided to prevent personal memories of certain music in participants. The minor key was sad, and the major key was not depressed one. After listening to each key, they record how they perceived and felt emotion. Independent variable was major key, and the dependent variable was minor key. There was no control experiment. The pre-test was not conducted. Independent variable controlled dependent variable because the comparison was done meaning sad music perceived evoke positive emotion, major key always perceived positive respond.
