Introduction

Culture refers to a group's collective knowledge, experiences, beliefs, values, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, concepts of time and space, understandings of the universe, and material possessions. It is passed down from one generation to another through the collaborative efforts of individuals within the group.

Culture, in its broadest sense, has shaped my behavior and accumulated experience through social learning. It is a way of life that has influenced my practices, beliefs, values, and accepted symbols within my community. These aspects of culture are transmitted through communication and imitation from one generation to the next. In my own life experiences, culture plays a symbolic role in communication, encompassing the skills, knowledge, attitudes, personal values, and individual motives of a group of people.

The essential core of culture consists of traditional ideas and their attached values. Culture systems can be seen as both products of action and influences on future action. within the community, facilitating their transition. Prior to developing a passion for this field, I witnessed the prevalence of immoral behaviors such as alcohol and drug abuse among relatives in my family.

This played a significant role in developing my career due to regret over the societal behavior of past generations. It posed a challenge, making me long for a socially and morally stable family. As a result, I have introduced new habits among my family, relatives, and the wider community. Additionally, I frequently engage in social work by providing guidance and advice to individuals in the community.

I take pleasure in engaging with community members and offering guidance on various challenges in life. Additionally, I actively contribute towards the betterment of youths, orphans, widowed individuals, and the entire community. My efforts include rehabilitating individuals who have exhibited immoral behaviors such as theft and other crimes. This initiative greatly promotes positive cultural and social values, thus making me immensely satisfied with my profession as a social worker. As a change leader in my community, I aspire to establish transparency among professionals, which will ultimately enhance the social work industry as all workers strive to deliver their utmost best to community members.

As a change agent, my goal is to create innovative strategies and approaches for serving the community. I promote open communication within the community, enabling individuals to freely express their concerns and propose solutions. Furthermore, I provide support to colleagues in delivering exceptional services. Through leveraging my strengths, I aim to bring about transformation in both the profession and the broader community. As a social worker, I acknowledge that certain circumstances necessitate critical thinking in order to

make decisions that effectively address the needs of the community.

To achieve my goal, I have been participating in social work training and seminars. Engaging in social service activities has strengthened me and enhanced my ability to assist others, which is crucial for success in this field. Both of my parents were recovering alcoholics and believed that alcoholism was hereditary. Unfortunately, my grandfather also struggled with alcoholism and passed away in 2002, while my father's life ended in 1999. Previous generations of my family also suffered greatly from the harmful consequences of alcohol, resulting in numerous deaths.

After creating my family genogram, I have uncovered that across three generations of my family, there are intricate behavioral issues in the previous generation. Specifically, both my grand pop and father struggled with alcoholism, mental health issues, and poor physical well-being. However, in my generation, I have taken on the role of a community leader, working towards eradicating the detrimental effects of alcoholism.
