b. They’re credible in that they’d be easy to technically fulfill. None of them have quantitative measures attached to them, and they’re surrounded by subjective language. It would be really easy to say this promise was technically fulfilled without much effort on the United States’ part.

His vision for the future draws on the past. Even when he talks about the “new generation of Americans” (284), he connects them to the “first revolution” (284) that we fought for our liberty. He believes “each generation of Americans” has “been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty” (286), connecting his generation to the current one through their love for their country and their dedication to serving it.
