Introduction
NAACP simply means national association for the advancement of colored people and was founded in the year 1909. This termed to be the organization working for the civil rights in United States. Its headquarters are in Baltimore and has at least a staff of more than 220 people. The duties of this body are to fight against issues related to racial discrimination. In the early 1960, National Urban League promoted civil rights for the African Americans (Sewell, Stacy Kinlock, 2004).
This group aimed at a direct action of promoting the interests of Africans by highly publicized demonstrations. In this essay, it will reflect ways in which NAACP boycotts forced white business to recognize the power of black consumerism. The protestors of the NAACP shouted on “don’t stop, don’t stop until the flag drops�
...� and this happened through the process of tourism boycott which was in South Carolina. The demand behind these protests was for the flag to be changed and by them it had a symbol of confederate. This was not just a normal protest but one organized by the economic boycotts through the NAACP.
In addition to this they had other boycotts like the five-month of not going to the Adams Hotel chain and a threat to evade of the major television networks (Sewell, Stacy Kinlock, 2004). These televisions are the ones which had employed few American in principal roles. From these reactions the owners of businesses were able to understand the need of complying with the black consumer’s demands as they own power. Neglecting of a big hotel will definitely kill it in terms of market.
The businesses need to understand the civil rights o

In 1950s and 1960s, the NAACP looked askance at the participants of the demonstrations and aimed to improve their status by looking for new job opportunities of the African Americans. This action was a blow to the businesses existing to understand that the black had powers bestowed to them and they could exercise them still. On conclusion from the above reactions we can conclude that the boycotts performed and initiated by the NAACP produced good fruits to the black Americans. They could enjoy options of job positions and could be recognized as legible voters.
