I visited Metropolitan Natural Park in early May last year, right at the start of the rainy season. Before the visit, I had only intended to stay shortly in the park but I ended up exploring most of the pathways and natural trails in the park. I was so happy that I got the opportunity to hit up all the Vista Points in the city of Panama. The Panama Natural Park is the only refuge city in Central America located at Panama City in Ancon district along the Curundu River. The first proposal to establish a protected area originated from the Panama Canal Soil Management Plan in 1974. Later, in 1983 the area where the park is found today was declared a recreational area before it was officially inaugurated after being presented within the law.

tes surrounding the area. Moreover, this park is located at a friendly environment surrounded by favorable geographical features making it suitable to respect ecological balance. Nevertheless, the surrounding extensive rich rain forest serves as habitat and a home for many endangered species. From the U.S department of environmental planning and conservation, this park offers the most attractive recreational facilities in the world. To mention a few, we have natural interpretation programs, outdoor creation facilities and educational facilities in the region. These facilities symbolize the effort initiated by the Panama City to ensure quality life to both nature and human. Moving a few meters from the Panama City along Mono Titi road, we find Los Trion’s Lookout point used for bird’s observation. This place is the most attractive

viewpoint. Here, tourist enjoys melody songs for various birds found in the park. The most attractive moments I enjoyed in the park is at the viewpoint where great species of endangered mammals such as birds and insects live. At this place, I got the opportunity to meet more than 45 species of mammals and more than 254 species of birds (Majeau-Betetez, 2008).

Consequently, the established rehabilitation center for the wounded animals in the park is the most amazing place to be. In this place, hospitality and nursing care is administered to animals in critical health conditions. Despite the active measures taken by the government to conserve Metropolitan Natural Park, human activities have affected natural resources in many ways. For instance, air pollution drifted from the metropolitan areas affects both flora and fauna in the area. The construction of various dams in the park affects the aquatic ecosystems within the park. Moreover, the thick forest landscapes have been altered by the unexpected wildland fire outbreaks. Today, conservation laws have been passed to protect and conserve the natural wonders of Metropolitan Natural Park. Installation of scrubbers in the coal fire plants helps to reduce pollution in the area. In addition to that, integrated pest management procedures are used to eradicate pest species dangerous to the plant species in the park. Lastly, electric fences are erected along the park boundaries to enhance security and keep out trespassers.

For Instance, I would recommend many people around the world to visit and enjoy the uniqueness in this place. The improved attraction site offers unique experiences to nature lovers. The park is also the most protected area in Panama City thus highly secured.

The park also harbors the most beautiful wildlife the world has to offer. Moreover, the park has unique World War II historical monuments used as testing and assembly plants for aircraft engines during the war (Majeau-Betetez, 2008). The monuments are symbols to honor the world war soldiers and supporters who served in the U.S armed forces. Moreover, the monuments also symbolize the spirit and commitment of people. Furthermore, the monument has cultural significance to foster spirit of sacrifice to accomplish national duties.

Metropolitan Natural Park has benefited the locals in different ways. The extensive rich forest maintains the required water levels in Panama Canal. This canal and the permanent rivers are used to provide drinking water to the city regions. Moreover, Metropolitan Natural Park is the source of income to the nation accrued from the high tourist visits in the region. The extensive rich forest also foster aesthetic beauty to the region. Many people have secured job opportunities in the park thus improving their living standards. The park has scientific research institutions where the locals carry out their research relating to nature. Environmental education is highly practiced in the area; locals and scientist acquire knowledge on natural preservation mechanisms and policies (Braun, 2005).

In conclusion, the travel was so nice and educative throughout the many days I spent in the Park City. I recommend all governing bodies to create more policies to protect and conserve all the National parks worldwide. I thank the World Day of Environment for its efforts to maintain its target to perfect the environment through creation of natural preservation policies.
