The text describes Military virologist Robert Neville, who is the last surviving human in New York City and potentially the world. He appears to be immune to an unstoppable and incurable virus. However, there are mutant plague victims hiding in the shadows, watching his every move and waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Neville's main goal is to find an antidote using his own immune blood, which could be humanity's last chance. However, he knows that he is greatly outnumbered and time is running out. The synopsis of the movie starts with a newspaper interview featuring Dr. Kripper (Emma Thompson), where she talks about her scientific breakthrough.

She has genetically modified the Measles virus to specifically target cancerous cells, resulting in a 100% success rate in more than 10,109 clinical trials.

...

The scene then transitions to three years later, portraying a deserted New York City. Grass is pushing through the concrete, cars are corroding on the streets, and buildings have been covered with massive sheets of plastic marked with Biohazard signs. Dr. Robert Neville (Will Smith) is cruising down one of the overgrown streets in a Ford Mustang when a group of deer unexpectedly emerges from behind a building.

He starts the engine and pursues them on the streets, targeting one until it jumps over a blockade with numerous cars obstructing the road. Neville abruptly stops, glances at Sam, his German shepherd companion, and exits with his M4 rifle to pursue the deer. Stealthily maneuvering through the tall grass amidst the cars, he notices the deer's tail and prepares to shoot just as it goes around a bus and under an overpass

Expressing frustration, Neville lowers his rifle and proceeds to walk around the opposite side with Sam following closely.

Approaching the corner, Neville raises the scope to his eyes and catches sight of a deer through an abandoned car. He carefully edges around the car for a clear shot, aiming his rifle. Suddenly, a lioness emerges from behind another car and wrestles the deer to the ground. Contemplating shooting the lioness, Neville lowers his rifle as a lion and two cubs come into view. Torn between decisions, Neville's watch starts beeping. He turns off the alarm and checks the sun, which is setting on the horizon. Informing Sam that it's time to go, they drive home.

At home, Neville switches vehicles to an SUV with gear strapped to its roof rack. Barrels scattered around outside seem to have explosive devices attached. Exiting the SUV with a satchel and squirt bottle in hand, Neville walks backward towards his front door while squirting liquid onto the ground and stairs behind him.

The kitchen is shown to be well-stocked and organized when Neville takes a can of Tomato sauce from the cupboard and puts it back under the table. While the TV plays an old news broadcast, Neville cooks dinner for himself and his dog. In the video, one of the hosts measures snowfall outside with a ruler. Neville reminds Sam to eat her vegetables properly instead of just pushing them around. When his watch alarm goes off again, he takes Sam upstairs for a bath. He turns on his iPod player and Bob Marley's song "Don't Worry" begins to play.

He washes Sam, promising to forgive her for not eating

her vegetables today if she eats twice as much tomorrow. While singing along with the music, Neville appears to daydream until Sam's barking snaps him back to reality and the beeping of his watch. He shakes his head, then proceeds to cover each window with large steel shutters and locks the door with a heavy-duty bolt. As the sun goes down, he settles in the bathtub with Sam, listening to the Infected's howls, gradually falling asleep and entering a dream.

Three years ago in New York, two unmarked black government vehicles arrive at Neville's house. Neville quickly exits one of the vehicles, followed by his wife, Zoe, who holds their child, Willow, and their puppy Samantha. Zoe asks what is happening as a man in a military uniform steps out of the first car and informs Neville that they still have 30 minutes. Neville instructs Zoe to get in the car and asks about the amount of money she has. Dissatisfied with her $600, Neville advises her to stop at an ATM after crossing the ridge and withdraw as much as possible before heading to her sister's house. He plans to meet her there in two weeks. Despite her fear, Zoe asks if the virus has become airborne. Neville cautiously admits that he doesn't know and denies her request to join them, stating that New York is Ground Zero and he has a two-week window to halt the virus's spread. Their daughter, confused by the conversation, complains from the backseat since they usually visit her aunt during summer, not Christmas.

Eventually, Neville and Zoe quiet Sam down after she tries to catch their attention by

creating a butterfly shape with her hands and saying, "Look at the butterfly, Daddy." Suddenly, Neville wakes up in his bed, realizing he must have changed positions during the night. Sunlight penetrates through small cracks in the metal shutters over the windows. The first thing he does is exercise, performing pull-ups and running on a treadmill while the dog keeps pace on a neighboring treadmill. Afterward, he dresses and proceeds to a door beneath the staircase, leading to the basement. Sam attempts to follow him but is informed that she cannot enter and is left outside as Neville shuts the door behind him.

He enters a room illuminated by UV light and takes a lab coat. Then, he enters a well-equipped laboratory where he proceeds to start an Apple computer with a wireless camera, intending to create a video journal for the day. While narrating the specifics of his experiments, he attaches the wireless camera to a pair of glasses and heads towards a box-shaped structure concealed under a black tarp. Neville uncovers the structure, unveiling around thirty stacked cages filled with hairless Infected rats. As soon as they catch sight of him, they vigorously hurl themselves against the Plexiglas cage doors.

He sighs and begins to dictate that the anti-virus appears to have had minimal impact on most subjects and has resulted in the death of several. However, he stops when he notices an unusual behavior in one of the rats; it is behaving like a typical rat. He observes it closely, noting that its aggression has significantly decreased, and it has regained some pigmentation and the ability to dilate its pupils in bright

light. After making a note, he goes upstairs, removes his lab coat, and retrieves a jacket, M4 rifle, a set of keys (he has around 20 for different cars), and a few DVDs from an armoire near the door. Leaving his house, he steps into the sunlight and passes by a video store with mannequins dressed in various styles. It seems that he has developed a personal connection with these mannequins as he greets them by name upon entering. An amusing moment occurs when he notices a female mannequin wearing expensive clothing next to the Adult DVD section while replacing the DVDs he brought.

He appears flustered as he grabs a pair of DVDs adjacent to the ones he previously returned and proceeds to the front counter. He communicates to the mannequin working behind the counter that he is currently halfway through the Gs. He seems inclined to inquire about the woman near the adult section, but decides against it and simply shakes his head before leaving to his car. Afterwards, he heads towards a small field to collect corn while engaging in conversation with Sam. During their conversation, he assures Sam that he will speak to the woman tomorrow.

After gathering a few ears of corn, he returns to his vehicle. Meanwhile, a voiceover, possibly a recurring broadcast on the radio, declares to whoever is listening that he is a survivor. It informs that he will be present at the docks near the bridge at noon, when the sun is at its highest point in the sky. The announcement states that he can provide food, shelter, and security, and extends an invitation to other

survivors to join him. Arriving at the harbor, he proceeds to a desk positioned at the far end. He retrieves notes and reading glasses from his satchel and neatly arranges them on the table.

After some time, Neville takes a break from his activities and heads over to the wing of a Blackbird spy plane on a Carrier to hit some golf balls. His companion, Sam, also joins him and suddenly notices something on the mainland. Neville quickly grabs a pair of binoculars and scans the area, eventually focusing on the tail of a deer as it disappears behind a bus. Intrigued, Neville promptly grabs his jacket and rifle before heading towards the spot where he spotted the deer. As he chases after it, Sam dashes ahead. The deer manages to escape under a torn plastic sheet covering one of the nearby buildings and disappears inside the pitch black structure.

Sam rushes in, disregarding Neville's desperate pleas to halt. Neville anxiously stands by the door, calling out Sam's name into the darkness. With no reply, he cautiously enters the building and activates a flashlight connected to his rifle. Sweat trickles down his face as he navigates carefully through the dimly lit structure, fearfully whispering Sam's name. Abruptly, he freezes and shields the flashlight upon hearing a piercing scream emanating from a stairwell. After regaining his composure, he cautiously approaches the door once more.

Intermittently flashing the light, he briefly moves his hand away from the flashlight and then puts it back. Turning the corner, he sees a pool of blood at the bottom of the staircase. Slowly making his way up, he follows a trail

of blood until he notices the decapitated muzzle of a dead deer peeking out from behind a wall. Holding onto the deer's head, he continues down the hallway where he looks at the floor and finds scattered millions of dollars. Distracted by the money, he almost trips over a room with approximately ten infected individuals who are asleep in a circle.

He becomes motionless and appears to be attempting to suppress a scream or regulate his breathing before slowly retreating, being careful not to crease the money. Reaching the top of the stairs, he hears Sam emitting a soft whine from the opposite end of the hallway. Hastening into a spacious room, he scans the area with his flashlight until he spots Sam hiding underneath a desk. Approaching her, he instructs her to emerge and then notices that she is gazing towards his right. Swiftly pivoting, he illuminates one of the Infected in the beam as it lunges at him. He responds by firing multiple shots, ultimately causing its demise.

Without pausing to ensure its demise, he swiftly starts running, with Sam closely following, while the sound of roars and screams indicates that the Infected have been alerted by the disturbance. In his sight, Neville notices a small patch of light and sprints towards it, instructing Sam to run ahead. Just as he reaches the light, one of the Infected leaps onto his back and propels him forward, causing him to crash through a window on the second floor. Neville seizes the Infected and utilizes it to cushion his fall, rolling away as the sunlight starts scorching its skin. The creature has lost all its

hair and its skin appears nearly transparent in the daylight.

After witnessing the dog's death, Neville retrieves a vial containing his own blood and instructs Sam to remain in the car due to the dog's susceptibility to direct contact with the virus. Returning to the building, Neville prepares a trap near the entrance using a tarp and positions himself atop a car on the street, closely monitoring the door.

Noises emerge from the darkness, including growls, hisses, and the distinct clinking sound of a trap being triggered. The counterweight Neville had added to the trap descends, pulling the catch along with it and entangling it in a tarp. Neville puts an end to its struggle with a swift blow from his rifle's butt. While observing the motionless figure wrapped in the tarp, another Infected individual, a male, attempts to lunge at Neville through the door but is restrained by the others. The Infected disregards the burns starting to appear on its skin as it gazes at Neville before allowing its comrades to pull it back into the darkness inside the building.

Neville dismisses the incident and brings the captured Infected to his laboratory. Inside, Neville is wearing his cam-glasses while the Infected lies on a stainless steel table, restrained with chain-reinforced bands around her wrists, waist, and legs. She has been heavily sedated with drugs, requiring six times the normal dosage for a human. Neville intends to administer the same formula that exhibited positive results on a rat, hoping for similar effects on humans. Prior to injecting the serum, Neville takes note of the Infected's heart rate of 200 BPM and a temperature of 106

degrees.

Neville watches the monitor with hope as he sees the heart rate and temperature of the Infected start to drop. However, his excitement turns to dismay when the Infected begins to have a seizure and her heart stops completely. He sighs and administers an unknown substance, possibly the original virus, which successfully restarts her heart. Frustrated with the failed test, Neville transfers the Infected to a Plexiglas containment room and heads upstairs. Sitting in his car, Neville pulls out a map of Manhattan that is partially marked with small xs on each block. He circles the next block in the sequence and proceeds to the house he has marked. His dog, Sam, enters and barks once to signal that it's safe. Neville then searches through the house, inspecting medications and supplies for anything useful. He also removes the curtains from the windows to let in sunlight. While rummaging through the kitchen, Neville opens a cabinet with newspaper clippings, including one about the infection spreading to dogs. He continues exploring other rooms until he reaches a bedroom where a plastic quarantine tent covers the bed. Next to it, there is a door adorned with a bow and a note instructing not to open until Christmas.

After gently pushing open the door, Neville stumbles upon a nursery containing two cribs beautifully decorated with bows. Hastily shutting the door, he heads back to his car. On his way home, he unexpectedly catches sight of one of the mannequins that he had seen earlier outside the video store. This particular mannequin is now positioned in front of a substantial building located at the opposite end of a bridge.

Cautiously approaching the mannequin, Neville's progress comes to a halt when he encounters a fallen light post blocking his path. Furious and filled with questions, he steps out of his car and angrily interrogates the mannequin about its absence from the store.

Neville questions whether the mannequin is alive, proceeding to shoot at it with his rifle. The mannequin shatters and is propelled into the nearby water. He cautiously walks towards it, keeping an eye on the wall's significant gap. As he steps into the puddle, he unknowingly triggers a snare trap. Subsequently, a taxi cab descends from the bridge, tightening around his feet and forcing his head into the ground, lifting him into the air. Neville loses consciousness and experiences another flashback, continuing from where the previous one concluded.

Upon arriving at the dock, Neville notices three unmarked vehicles. He had been waiting there in the hopes of finding survivors. The situation is growing desperate as people are being screened and evacuated due to infection concerns, with helicopters and ferries assisting in the process. However, a large crowd has gathered. Neville and his family receive special escort to the front of the line. A woman with strikingly red eyes approaches Neville, begging him to take her son along. Neville chooses to ignore her plea. Meanwhile, a soldier uses a device to scan Neville, his daughter, and their dog for signs of infection by checking their eyes. To their surprise, Zoe fails the test when scanned by the soldier. This leads to preparations for escorting her to the quarantine zone. Filled with anger, Neville exercises his authority and demands a rescan for his wife.

Thankfully, she passes this time and they proceed towards a waiting helicopter for evacuation.

As Zoe, Marley, and their dog Samantha board the helicopter, they engage in a prayer with Neville before taking off into safety. Standing back from the aircraft, he receives an unexpected gift from his daughter - a puppy. Initially hesitant but with little time left before departure, tears stream down Neville's face as he reluctantly takes hold of the puppy and steps away from the landing pad while waving goodbye to his family who remain on board.

Neville wakes up after being caught in a trap. His dog, Sam, barks continuously while his watch alarm keeps beeping. Neville looks around and realizes the sun is setting behind nearby buildings. He decides to free himself by grabbing a knife and attempting to cut the rope that's holding him in mid-air. However, he doesn't have enough strength to stay lifted for long. Determined, Neville tries again and successfully cuts the rope, causing him to fall. Unfortunately, he lands on the knife and it shatters into his thigh. The pain prevents him from removing the fragment, so he crawls back to the car.

As the sun lowers in the sky, a narrow strip of light on the bridge gradually diminishes. Neville is halfway to the car when he hears snarls and growls coming from a hole in the building. The same male who locked eyes with Neville earlier emerges from darkness, accompanied by a group of Infected dogs. With a roar, the male releases the dogs, sending them charging towards Neville and Sam. However, their progress is stopped by the shrinking band of sunlight on

the bridge. Neville pushes himself harder, desperately trying to reach the gun in the driver's side door of the car.

The sunlight finally fades away as Neville manages to stand and limps towards the car. He quickly grabs the pistol, just as the first dog lunges at him. Neville shoots the dog, and then tries to shoot the one that is fighting with Sam. However, a third dog jumps on him and knocks the gun out of his hands. Neville tries to defend himself against the dog, but it is clearly stronger and winning the battle. Just as the dog is about to attack Neville's neck, Samantha crashes into it from the side, pushing it off Neville and into the car's side. With his freedom regained, Neville swiftly grabs the pistol and shoots the last dog.

Samantha is injured and limps over, lying down. Neville attempts to console her before placing her in the car and transporting them home. In his lab, Neville lays Samantha on the table and cautiously injects some serum from a vial that proved effective on a rat into her shoulder. He sits on the floor, holding her tenderly and softly sings "Don't Worry" while gently stroking her hair. He blinks away tears and gazes at a clump of hair in his hand.

In this scene, Neville notices that Samantha's pupils are fully dilated and her gums are rapidly turning red and inflamed. Samantha begins to growl and attempt to bite Neville. Despite this, he holds her head still and tries to divert his gaze while strangling her with his bare hands. He continues singing the song and only lets go

when Samantha's feet stop desperately scratching at the laboratory floor (I will admit that this part of the movie brought tears to my eyes). The following day, Neville buries Samantha in the cornfield before returning to the video store and standing next to a female mannequin in the Adult section.

I have a friend who asked me to greet you, so hello. When I greeted you, it made my friend cry. Please greet them as well. (Be warned, this is the saddest part of the movie.) In the night by the docks, Neville sits at his desk. A large group of Infected beings slowly approach him with silent footsteps. When the leading Infected individuals start running towards Neville at his desk, he turns on his car's extra-bright UV lights and accelerates through the group, sending Infected individuals flying in all directions.

He quickly turns the car and drives through the area again, but one of the Infected jumps onto the car's hood and attempts to break the car's windshield. Neville forcefully crashes the car into a light pole, causing the Infected to be thrown off. The Alpha Male infected then orders two of its pack members to crash into the side of Neville's car. As they start running towards him with increasing speed, Neville tries to reverse the car. However, he gets stuck on the remains of a desk and the car flips upside down as the Infected collide with its side.

The Alpha Male approaches the car and enters it, sniffing at Neville like an animal. He is about to forcefully remove Neville from the car when extremely bright lights suddenly light up the

surroundings. Neville loses consciousness while a woman's voice repeatedly checks if he is alright. After a moment, he starts to regain consciousness as the woman inquires about his residence and its safety. Neville provides the address but advises her to wait until sunrise to prevent the Infected from tracing him back to his house.

At this point, Neville loses consciousness and we are taken back to the docks three years earlier. As Neville walks away from the helicopter, he waves goodbye to his wife and daughter. Suddenly, two fighter jets pass overhead and shoot missiles at the Manhattan bridge, causing an explosion that separates a section of the bridge and effectively isolates the island. Meanwhile, the helicopter starts to take off while Neville's daughter playfully creates a butterfly shape with her hands. While waving goodbye to his daughter, Neville hears some commotion coming from another pier on the dock. A group of people has managed to break through the containment fence and is attempting to swarm another helicopter.

The helicopters' lack of balance affects its maneuverability, resulting in it spinning towards the helicopter Zoe and Marley are in. Neville screams as the two helicopters get closer to crashing into each other. In a sudden moment, Neville wakes up in his living room to find it is daytime and Shrek is playing on the TV. He hears noises coming from the kitchen. Neville looks at his leg where the knife had gone through and realizes it has been skillfully stitched back together. He stands up from the couch and walks with a limp towards a desk, where he takes a pistol out of one of the drawers.

align="justify">
Upon entering the kitchen, he briefly mistakes a different woman and her young son as his wife and daughter while they're preparing breakfast. However, he quickly realizes his mistake and notices their uneasy reaction towards the pistol he's holding. Taking note of what has caught their attention, he carefully puts the pistol on the counter. The woman kindly asks him to take a seat, informing him that she has cooked bacon and eggs, although apologizing for the powdered nature of the eggs.

In this scene, Anna (played by Alice Braga) and her son, Ethan (played by Charlie Tahan), join Neville after he has been alone for three years. Neville is surprised to see them and asks about their whereabouts and purpose of being there. Anna informs him that they were in Maryland but are now en route to a Survivors Colony in Vermont. This revelation upsets Neville who vehemently denies the existence of any Survivors Colonies. The tension escalates as Neville angrily smashes his plate on the floor, alarming Anna and Ethan, with Anna even reaching for her gun.

Apologizing, Neville explains that he was saving the bacon and proceeds upstairs to cool down. Anna disarms herself and instructs Ethan to return the knife he had taken to the table. Upon Neville's return downstairs, Ethan is engrossed in watching Shrek. Anna keeps a vigilant eye on Neville as he starts reciting lines from the movie. After a brief moment, he stops and looks embarrassed, admitting his fondness for Shrek. He then joins Anna in the kitchen, where he apologizes for his outburst and they start conversing. It dawns on her that he is none other

than Robert Neville, the renowned scientist.

He escorts her to his laboratory and reveals the captured Infected woman who has been stored in ice in an effort to reduce her body temperature for the purpose of enhancing the serum's efficacy. She inquires about a place for her son to sleep, prompting Neville to carry the sleeping child from the couch to his deceased daughter's former room. The room remains adorned as it did three years ago, and Anna examines some pictures stationed on a shelf. Curious, she asks about the identity of the little girl in the photographs. Surprised, Neville informs her that the girl was named Marley, after Bob Marley, and is astonished when she admits to never hearing about him.

He leads her downstairs and plays a CD by Bob Marley on the stereo, conveying that Marley was an influential figure who believed that racism and hatred were akin to a virus, necessitating an infusion of love and music for a cure. He recounts a tale of Marley being shot in his own home just two days before a concert advocating for peace, highlighting Marley's resilience as he still performed at the concert, as those trying to harm the world do not take breaks. In response, Anna speaks about how she perceives everything to be God's plan and interprets her presence here and her radio tuning into his message as more than mere coincidence.

Neville confronts Anna with anger, expressing his frustration about the impact of the released virus on the global population. He discloses that at the time of release, there were 6 billion people on earth. With a high infection rate

of 90%, approximately 5.4 billion people were immediately infected. Despite a low immunity rate of only 2%, around 12 million individuals still had immunity against the virus. However, Neville adds that even those who were infected turned against the immune, resulting in further reduction of their numbers. In his fury, Neville declares God's absence and clenches his fists in front of his face. Suddenly, he interrupts his outburst and tilts his head to one side.

As the man stands outside the house, he is gripped with panic upon hearing a loud roar. He inquires if Anna waited until sunrise to come back inside. In response, she clarifies that although the sun was rising, she had to return earlier to provide medical aid to Neville who was injured. Frustrated, he curses and reveals that the Infected have discovered their location. Acting swiftly, he rushes towards the wall and activates a circle of UV spotlights encircling the house. Unfortunately, before any substantial harm can be prevented, some lights are knocked down by the approaching Infected creatures.

After Neville grabs a remote device, he waits for the Infected to gather in the middle of the barrels. He then presses the button, igniting all the barrels and killing many Infected. However, the explosion also stuns Neville and causes some metal shutters to come loose from their hinges. This allows two surviving Infected to enter the house. Neville quickly goes upstairs but is attacked by one of the Infected. At the same time, the other Infected heads upstairs toward Anna and Ethan. The Infected grabs onto Neville's shoulder and hurls him around the room before throwing him back down the

stairs.

Neville arrives at a location where an umbrella holder is present, along with his M4 rifle. He seizes the rifle and begins shooting at the Infected, who has pursued him down the stairs. The Infected quickly takes cover in the kitchen, where Neville spots a collection of squirt bottles that were previously shown in the movie. He fires a single round, causing the bottles to explode, propelling the Infected out of the kitchen. The Infected hastily retreats upstairs to evade Neville's rifle. Neville pursues and eliminates it before it can flee through the window.

The rifle is now empty, so Neville discards it on the floor. Meanwhile, he gazes out the window and catches sight of the Alpha Male, who is staring back at him. Suddenly, a loud crash from upstairs reminds Neville of the other Infected that had gone after Anna and Ethan. With a sense of urgency, he hastily ascends the stairs and momentarily halts at the top upon hearing another crash emanating from his bedroom. Curiosity piqued, Neville cautiously peeks around the corner only to observe one of the Infected crawling on the ceiling, creating an opening to the roof. Anna and Ethan hide underneath a dresser in response. Nearby on the nightstand, Nevilles pistol sits, and he starts moving closer towards it. However, his son Ethan inadvertently makes a noise.

The Infected halts its actions and descends from the roof to pursue the source of the noise. Neville quickly reaches for the pistol and shoots the Infected in the chest, resulting in its demise. Meanwhile, the Alpha Male commands a fresh wave of even more Infected to attack the

house. Neville guides Anna and Ethan to the basement lab area and secures the door behind them. He instructs them to enter the Plexiglas room where he had been experimenting on an Infected woman. They all rush inside and are amazed to discover that the woman is exhibiting signs of the infection reversing itself.

At that moment, the remaining Infected charge into the basement, prompting Neville to swiftly shut the Plexiglas door just in time. One of the Infected relentlessly slams against the door in an attempt to break through, until the Alpha Male intervenes by lifting him up and hurling him across the room. Showing no signs of letting up, the Alpha Male proceeds to aggressively bash his head against the door, causing the glass to crack and appear like a distorted butterfly. Memories of his daughter's voice flood Neville's mind, urging him to observe the butterfly. He directs his gaze towards Anna and notices a butterfly tattoo adorning her neck.

Neville quickly searches for medical supplies, finding a syringe and vial to draw blood from the Infected female. He instructs Anna and Ethan to take cover in a small opening, potentially a chimney. Neville hands Anna the vial, informing her that it contains the cure, but warns that the Infected will keep trying to break through the door. Anna suggests that there is enough room for all of them inside, but Neville closes the door and tells her to wait until daylight. Turning around, he retrieves a grenade from another drawer and confronts the Alpha Male.

Neville sprints towards the Alpha Male while pulling the pin on a grenade, causing both

the Alpha Male and all other Infected in the basement to explode. In the next scene, Anna and Ethan are depicted driving through the rural Vermont countryside in autumn. The tree leaves showcase a vivid red-orange hue, with no evidence of any Infected presence. They reach a massive steel door set into a concrete wall. Exiting their vehicle, they approach the door and hear a beep sound. As it opens up, two armed military men guarding the entrance to safety become visible.

The text highlights how Robert Neville sacrificed his life for the cure, which Anna passes on to a scientific person in the sanctuary. The cure, originally created from a virus to treat cancer, eventually leads recipients to exhibit symptoms similar to rabies as the virus mutates. Meanwhile, Robert Neville and his dog Sam manage to survive as Neville is immune to both airborne and contact strains of the virus. According to Neville's knowle
