Introduction

The movement in the feminist world has made serious and dramatic changes over the years- but over a decade now women have now the right to vote, but the matter that is sad is that- a lot of work has to be done. Men and women are born as equals. Each gender plays a role that allows a society to function. Throughout the course of time men have been located in a place of power.

Men and Women are Equal

As a consequence, women are now perceived as the lesser of the two genders, which rapidly began to change in the late 1940s because of the war. Due to the men being away at war, the women had to take care of the daily tasks that the men would typically handle. wages are low or not. The faces at the top of government and industry remain males; in fact, women are actually decreasing with research saying women are not on top in terms of a profession in the world today. The progress in terms of gender equality is uneven, but it is true that women are taking over the world to look for employment, political offices and equal pay, not only in the informal sector where most women work; selling tomatoes, sewing clothes, or picking cotton. Women who owe small and business that are medium sized are estimated to be 5 million and 10 million, making them fewer than men.

For example, in sub-Saharan Africa, 74% women and 69% men work in the informal sector, whereas in Asia 80% men and women work in the same sector. The number of women in the formal sector today has increased than years ago, making it 42% in the formal labor sector, and 53% in the farming labor force. This figure varies from country to country, where for example in 2011, the Middle East and North Africa, 30% of females were in the formal sector, compared to 80% in the Pacific and East Asia. The stability in men’s labor force is still going strong, in different countries and across all income groups. The highest positions in different countries are elusive for women; with nine out of 150 heads of states around the world are women, and with only 11 of 192 in the government offices (Beirne & Margaret 99).

This is also similar to all levels of local government: represented well all over the world with women mayors being more under-represented.

However, the women in top positions are all lined up for success, with few in the world’s richest list in Forbes coming from rich families or business dynasties. Women in the private sector are directors of boards of the large business with their numbers lowering compared to men. The European Union (EU), in April 2013, women were only 16% on the board of listed as company’s members.

New study published to mark International Women’s Day, in Britain women believe they are treated better than men. The study also found that 10 women who are young have never experienced sexual behavior or sexist remarks. While for those who have been in sexist behavior, their experiences included being touched, whistled at, or gender discrimination (Beirne & Margaret 99). One in five women only said they are feminist; despite the discrimination and social inequality. The study also showed that men are mostly viewed as breadwinners, while women as homemakers. Another study coordinated by campaigns and charity groups reported that women have no sex bias and pointed out that Britain remains with gender stereotypes. The findings also disclosed that men and women majority of them when at adulthood, they become greater equality.

Conclusion

Men and women are not equal according to contrary belief, despite the studies and researches were done, men and women are created differently. Not only in the employment world, we are different and the world should understand this reality rather than insisting men and women should be treated the same. The gender differences are unique; not only anatomy wise but physiologically from different hormones that reduce stress, the way of communication. Women and men differ in brain communication when

under and reducing stress, and still in decision making.
