Food safety training remains a critical concern in the restaurant industry within the United States. The majority of foodborne diseases, resulting in numerous hospitalizations and illnesses, are primarily caused by insufficient handling practices among restaurant workers. Given that these illnesses predominantly stem from the behavior and practices of food service employees, it is imperative to offer training programs aimed at enhancing their services (Arduser & Brown, 2005).

Although many restaurants aim to meet food safety standards, there are still frequent cases of people getting sick. Therefore, it is essential to prioritize safety training for employees at my new restaurant (Arduser & Brown, 2005). Effective training should include both on-the-job and off-the-job training. However, on-the-job mentoring and coaching are particularly valuable as they provide individualized guidance.

By using these methods, an individual's strengths and weaknesses can be evaluated based on their performance. When it comes to food safety training, different tools and aids are necessary for effective facilitation. One of these resources is simulation games, which give workers a realistic experience similar to real-life work situations (Arduser & Brown, 2005). Simulation games are especially beneficial in off-site training approaches. In addition, videos and other visual presentations aid in retaining information following the training.

Visuals and audio aids are beneficial for visually impaired and deaf trainers in acquiring fundamental knowledge that leads to better results. These aids encompass handouts and PowerPoint presentations, which can be referred to in the future for ongoing learning. For example, videos and PowerPoint presentations can effectively illustrate the concept of hand washing, facilitating quick and effortless comprehension (Arduser & Brown, 2005).
