The vertical acceleration's frequency weighted mean square value is a well-known criterion for ide comfort. Various criteria have been proposed for handling, which rely to varying degrees on driver input. Each car company selects certain criteria as their main ones for design, taking into account factors such as car application, consumption bazaar, environment, and road condition. Conducting an off-road test is an excellent option for evaluating a vehicle's handling quality. In this test, diverse sensors are affixed to the vehicle to measure certain properties.

The combination of sensor data and the professional driver's opinion is a reliable way to evaluate handling. To assess handling quality, we conducted various objective tests including steady state tests (CRC) and transient tests (impulse steering input) on the five most commonly used vehicles in Iran. During these tests, we recorded the outputs o

f different sensors and obtained specific quantities. Additionally, we conducted subjective tests with professional drivers who provided their opinions on handling quality, which were scored on a scale of 1 to 20.

The text introduces three essential criteria, namely side slip angle, roll angle, and time lag between steering input and lateral acceleration, for measuring handling. It also mentions a good agreement between categorizing five vehicles based on these criteria and categorizing them according to drivers' scores. The text further discusses the root mean square value of vertical acceleration as a reliable criterion for assessing comfort and determining levels of acceptance in terms of comfort and safety. for handling. In regards to truck-trailer devices, Vlk [2] states that it is crucial to define evaluation criteria for vehicle combinations' handling performance, both in steady state and transient driving behavior. The purpose of this paper is to summarize research suggestions and conclusions on handling criteria, as well as present and discuss the results of tests conducted and evaluations of professional drivers' opinions. These findings can be utilized by vehicle companies to improve the quality of their products.

In their literature survey, Horiuchi et al. [3] found that drivers prioritize yaw angle over lateral position error (Ye) when steering a two wheel steering system car. However, for a four wheel steering system car, Ye becomes more significant. The handling characteristics of four wheel active steering vehicles are evaluated in terms of yaw rate and lateral acceleration across a wide range of lateral and longitudinal accelerations [4].

According to Sharp and Pan [5], improving the steering behavior of a vehicle can be achieved by reducing body roll. This can be accomplished by stiffening the anti-roll bars. Crolla et al. [6] use various metrics, such as peak lateral acceleration response time, peak road wheel steer angle and response time, peak yaw and roll rate and response time, and peak value of torque applied to the steering wheel and response time, to measure the roll angle in subjective/objective driver-handling correlations for J-turns (step steer input).
