Mexican culture is a rich and vibrant combination of many different influences. It has been shaped by the ancient Aztecs, Mayans, Europeans, Africans and other ethnic groups that have all left their mark on Mexican history. From its traditional cuisine to its colorful art forms, Mexico’s cultural identity is strong and unique. One of the most recognizable symbols of Mexican culture is food. Traditional dishes like tacos, enchiladas, tamales, mole poblano and chiles rellenos are just some examples of popular Mexican fare that have become global staples in recent years. Food is an integral part of celebrations such as Cinco de Mayo or Day of the Dead when families gather together for special meals full of flavor and tradition.Religion also plays a major role in shaping Mexican culture – Catholicism is deeply embedded throughout society with various festivals celebrated throughout the year honoring saints or religious figures from Christianity. Music too holds an important place within Mexican culture; from traditional mariachi bands to contemporary Latin pop acts such as Mana or Gloria Estefan there are numerous genres that provide insight into Mexico’s diverse heritage. In addition to music there are countless other art forms which demonstrate how creative Mexicans can be including painting, sculpture and literature amongst others. Perhaps one of the best demonstrations off what makes up Mexican culture though lies within its people – warm hearted individuals who proudly embrace their heritage while welcoming outsiders with open arms making it easy for anyone to join them on their journey through life.
